Happy Birthday, Wallace! ;v; *hands him a little box neatly wrapped in colorful paper* ..It’s not much, but I made it for you. I hope you like it. *inside is a little hand-carved Hoothoot, the wood smooth and painted black in certain places, and with two pieces of smooth red glass for the eyes*

I- thank you, Zal, it's very beautiful. *He took a few moments to look the carving over. He felt... almost ungrateful for not acting more grateful or... anything else, really.

So he forced a smile. Wallace didn't want to give her the idea that he didn't like it; it wasn't her fault that he hadn't considered his birthday to be a 'joyous occasion' since... he didn't even remember.
