Voodoo Truffles (slight return) in #Alba... I'm traveling around town securing my 5 kilos (11 pounds) of #Alba #Whitetruffles for tomorrow's journey. I'm looking for a few things. First and foremost is #intensity and particularity of #aroma while being the size of a paddleball. The #scent has to be powerful enough that the second we shave it it releases lasers into your nostrils setting the aromas on stun in your brain while you eat and obviously be of this Langhe terroir. It must be #HEAVY and #moist like the packed wet earth it came from. It can't have damage besides what a #snail might nibble off it or a #dog might do with his nails as he digs. Luckily I'm known in Alba so no one here would try fooling me with a counterfeit truffle, it's more about me picking the best of what came out of the #ground last night but nonetheless I'm looking out for everything and asking lots of questions like what type #tree was it under and what zone was it #caught in. #thetrufflehunter #whitetruffletrip2014 (at Alba, Italy)
