If I ever have to look at a hot cross bun ever again I’m going to cry :)
So I just started watching Steven Universe.
I wasn't sure what I would think off it, but it took me till hearing Stevens dad's cd to fall in love.
Not too impressed with this loaf :(
rye, whole meal and white with Carroway seeds, I did enjoy learning how to coat the cane bassinet with rice flour, cool technique and very satisfying.
It could’ve done with another 10 or so minutes in the oven (using a domestic oven until the commercial one is fitted) so the browning isn’t very even, also used spray water in the oven to create some steam for colour.
I’ve discovered I’m not keen on carroway seeds, maybe I’ll just use something else next time or just leave it without.
(Yes my hands are huge)
My most recent creation!!!
White no.4 and white hard, can’t remember the hydration percentage (I know, sacrilege 🥖) with toasted sunflower seeds
this loaf is my new favourite, really good, toasted or just by itself!
Gorgeous ciabatta, I’m not a fan of working with wet doughs, but holy hell was it worth it!

The bran, germ, and endosperm of the wheat grain are all present in…

Why Eat Whole-Wheat Bread?
To know the reason why we should eat whole-wheat bread, we must first start with what whole-wheat bread is and how it differs from the usual bread. A single wheat grain consists of three layers- the endosperm, germ, and bran. Where the usual wheat flour is made from the starchy endosperm alone (the germ and bran are removed through milling), the whole-wheat flour is made with the entire grain,…

Wholewheat Sourdough Bread with Raisins,Walnuts and Rosemary
Who says you can't make bread with whole wheat flour! There it is and on top of this it's made with sourdough! At first I let it rise for 3-4 hours, then I added the fun ingredients (raisins, walnuts, herbs) and let it rise for 2-3 hours more. I baked it for 40-50 minutes in a preheated oven at 200 degrees which you decrease to 170 after 15 minutes.
The ratio: 1 cup water to 3 cups wholewheat flour and a little less than 1 cup bubbly sourdough
