This is a prompt I plan on using myself, but I adore it so much I’d love if anyone else would be inspired by it to write something themselves. If you do please tag or send it to me, I’d love to read it!
Person A is super positive, helpful and dutiful in their work and everybody knows this.
Person A is working on some kind of taxing task/ project that’s already stressing them and running them ragged, but since they always keep up such a positive attitude and generally aren’t the type to complain, no one around them notice this.
Since Person A is always so kind and helpful they’re often the one peoples go to if they need help with anything or a problem needs fixing. Problem is, although unintentional, people start taking ‘advantage’ of Person A’s never ending kindness and just start leaving unfinished work and tasks up to them with different excuses each time:
“Oh, I’m late for a lunch date could you please finish this for me I just don’t have time - Thanks!”
“You’re just so much faster than me at this can’t you just do it this time? I promise I’ll get it next, please?!”
“It’s just so heavy and my back is acting up. Will you help me out, please?”
And of course Person A is incapable of just saying no and works themselves further and further to into the ground until one day it’s just too much and they drop from exhaustion and stress, much to everybody’s horror. Then it’s revealed just how much they all have been unloading on Person A and they all feel terrible guilty.
Once Person A recovers and returns all their colleagues/ friends goes above and beyond to be extra friendly, supportive and helpful making sure to show all their appreciation and offer helping Person A as well with their work. Person A is a bit confused at first, but grateful none the less.
