Well, it’s my Asian Drama anniversary!!!
Exactly one year ago today I started my endeavor into Asian Dramas!
I had seen MANY pictures and gifs from various wonderful fellow whumpers of beautiful Asian men all bloody and sweaty and scared..... *happy sigh*
So I decided to take a gander at ‘The K2′. I had seen maaaaaaany very pretty gifs lately from @whumpygifs (I love you @alipeeps!!!!) and I was like:
“Okay, let’s just look at the whumpy parts!”
To be honest, I wasn’t really interested in Asian Dramas aside from the whump, but fortunately for me, the amazing and beautiful Ji Chang Wook whump started veeeeeeeery early on.
Exhibit A, Exhibit B, Exhibit C *fans self*
So early, in fact, that when I was skipping around to find it, I saw some intriguing scenes so I was like:
“Well, it’s only a few minutes before the whump starts so I guess I’ll just go ahead and watch it, get some answers, and then skip around for more whump.”
So, back to the beginning of the episode I went!
“Oh, this is interesting....Oh! They met!!! Wait, what’s going on?! What’s going to happen now? I NEED TO KNOW MORE!!!!!!!!!”
And then of COURSE the first episode ended with an INSANE cliffhanger so I OBVIOUSLY needed to keep watching it!!!
And thus started my obsession.
Now, my sister is ALSO a whumper (yes, I know I am blessed), so I decided to share the love and watch the show with her.
So I got my sister hooked at the same time I got myself hooked! :P
And so has started a year long journey of experiencing the wonders of Korean and Chinese Dramas!
So far, my list of shows I have watched is as follows:
And the shows I’m in the middle of:
(Assassination is a movie a friend of mine - who served his mission in South Korea - suggested to me, so I’ll be watching that after I finish ‘Nirvana in Fire’)
You can see from the numbers at the bottom of these lists that I have averaged over one episode a day for the past year (I am weak, I will be doing better this year :P THAT is my New Year’s Resolution hehehe). To be honest, this stems from waiting to watch some dramas with my sister and we’re HORRIBLE at finding time away from our own things to divert our attention SOLELY to dramas, but luckily we now only do that for the occasional show now.
What you CAN’T see is my “Plan to Watch” list: 246 things! 200 dramas and 46 movies!
But wait! There’s more!!!
On my “On Hold” list are 18 dramas that are my “these are totally next and are at the highest priority”.
Yeah, you could say that I MIGHT have a problem ;)
AND I DON’T PLAN ON STOPPING!!!!
So here’s to all my wonderful friends who first got me into Asian Dramas and then got me EVEN DEEPER into Asian Dramas! And to a brand new year of watching!!!!
HAPPY NEW YEARS AND HAPPY DRAMA WATCHING!!!!
