So I was enjoying the fact that english is not my first language to enjoy some fanfic in college while waiting for the class to start and them in the end of the chapther there was an genuine disclaimer about how while the ficcional drug used in the chapter was the fantastical version of cocain it wasn't realistic and people should not rub/put cocain in their dicks (with articles about the consequences and a newsource about how a guy did it and lost his ding dong) and I was "excuse me what, I'm in a public space, good sir how should I react to it" . And them in the next chapter (who didn't even HAD ANYTHING TO DO WITH IT) they put in the notes that it was also not recomended that we put cocain in our butthole. I had an existencial crises right there.

My cousin texted me today asking why we existed.

Why are humans even here.

What purpose do we serve.

Why are we so complex.

I texted her this in response

maybe its because the universe had a goddamn need to be noticed and appreciated and understod on a human level and humans give it purpose even though we dont fully know what that purpose is because maybe it makes the universe feel a little bit better to know that there are things out there, and while they might not be so smart all the time, they are at least trying to understand because they care. maybe the universe just needed something to be alive enough to actually give a damn that it was there. maybe thats our job. to look at the fucking phenomenal stars in the sky and just be like "wow. thank god, or whatever created this amazing thing, that its there." and maybe the breeze that follows in response is the universe sighing in relief. that it matters to something. that something understands.

I dont think she was expecting that response. i dont know what this says about me.

There have always been people who have known about it and/or experienced it but it seems only now people are starting to seriously do something about it.
