SPOILER FREE

I absolutely love that the show is feels more solid, like they knew what they wanted and were doing for this season, and it really shows through the pacing, writing and acting. Everything from visual effects to the sets and the dialogue is so perfect that I can't imagine how much better the next seasons will be.

I am so happy with how Daniel Diemer and the writers portrayed Tyson, he instantly became one of my favourite characters in the show (and the books). As well as giving more backstory to Tyson, his time on the streets and how he dealt with it, you can really tell that it wasn't a good time for him and that he's grateful for Sally and Percy. Also the vfx for his eye is AMAZING, I wonder how they managed to make it look so natural. I just love my 8yr old cyclops baby, I love him so much 🥹

Percy and Annabeth's dynamic is so interesting to watch, because before this point, they've always had Grover as a buffer between them, but now that he's gone, it feels like we'll see their relationship evolve and strengthen as we move forward. The way Annabeth wanted to talk to Percy about what happened with the giants and Luke, you can see she wants to catch up with him, to be with him after not being around each other for so long, only to have Tyson interrupt their time together.

Speaking of Tyson again, his relationship with Percy breaks my heart, because you can see how much he wants to not be alone anymore, to have a big brother to look up to, but Percy isn't/doesn't have the time to process the fact that they're siblings, in fact he's actively ignoring that they're siblings at this point. Tyson is actively protecting Percy from any harm, like when he thought the gray sisters cab was dangerous and when he took that fire ball for him from the giants. I can't wait for their brotherhood to develop throughout the show, because Percy does care about Tyson, we see that even though he acts like it's a bother.

GROVER. I love Grover and his development of being a searcher satyr. The scene when he found the pan flute and he plays it then nature is literally responding to him? The foreshadowing is crazy and I love it so much. I also love how they portrayed his and Percy's empathy link, like in the books I couldn't really visualise it, but they did it so good in the show. When Percy realises the reason why the empathy link exists because they're best friends, his smile was literally so blinding, and when they just started catching up and making jokes together, it's so heartwarming to watch.

Clarisse. Oh my god Clarisse. She's so. I can't even. I love her, so much, I'd follow her into the sea of monsters always. She was one of my faves in the book, especially when she and Percy finally have a frenemies dynamic, and I'm excited to see that portrayal towards the end of the show with the golden fleece. I swear, she gets more beautiful each shot she's in, idc if she's an asshole, she's MY asshole.

I'm saying this knowing that it's awful irl BUT... Annabeth and the rest of the camp being racist towards Tyson is killing me. Like yes, he's technically a monster, but did we not learn from last season that monsters aren't always made (i.e Medusa). In the books, it was especially prevalent with Annabeth's disdain for cyclops, though with good reason. But still it was a lil frustrating and heartbreaking to see Tyson be discriminated like that when he's the sweetest child ever.

Thalia's tree being poisoned and Annabeth's reaction to it 😭 I loved the scene where she went to half-blood hill to visit Thalia at night, it was probably the most vulnerable we've seen Annabeth be in the show so far, and we get a little insight on how her relationship with Thalia impacted her. Like that's her older sister! And the fact that her older brother caused this pain just made everything worse. The way Annabeth cried as she begged Thalia to tell her how to save her? How many times will this show break my heart 😭

Don't even talk to me about Tantalus, I wanna eat a whole buffet in front of just to see him suffer.

what i do like about my current novel-in-progress is that the narrator is a woman in her 30s who has spent her entire life being Absolutely Unobjectionable And Perfect so that No One Can Ever Say Anything Bad About Her because she has quite simply Always Excelled At Everything but in a very Pleasant, Affable, People-Pleasing Way. she has remained, as it were, A Pleasure To Have In Class for her entire life. and now she is reaching the point in her life where she's finally gonna freakin' snap. yes. yesssssss!
