What is your eventual goal in life? My eventual goal in life is to be an English teacher who does theater for fun over the summer. I will be on the New York Times bestseller list and I will have a handsome hubby and three kids, and enough money to go to Disney World at least one more time before I die. That's my plan. Of course, who's to say how much of that will actually happen...but it's a dream and I plan to dream it.
What’s your favorite type of weather? I love late spring! When the rain isn't cold and windy, and when the sunshine is warm and pleasant without being too hot and overbearing. And lots of greenery and flowers exist YAY!
All time, number one favorite fandom? If the Whedonverse counts as a fandom, I'll stake my claim on that one. (It's technically more than one fandom...but it's all under JOSS and the Whedonverse does have notoriety of its own so I'm taking it!!)
ALL TIME NUMBER ONE FAVORITE SHIP? AHHH WHY MUST YOU TORTURE ME IN THIS WAY??!?! Okay, as much as I love Zutara and Clopher and Robias...I guess my number one OTP has to be Obi-Wan and Sabé. They're the only ship I have that I've written a legit fanfic for, so I guess that's what makes it outrank all my other otps. :P
What is YOUR biggest problem in life? My biggest problem is never having enough money to afford life. I still live with my parents, I'm really busy managing my schedule between my part time job, school, and all the other various extracurricular activities i invest my time in. Money is the one thing that keeps me up at night with stress, because or the pending costs of tuition, insurance, textbooks, credit card purchases (I'm still relying strictly on my checking account), groceries, the potential of buying/managing my own car AND getting an apartment...I just....money scares me. Debt is a very real possibility with the kind of life I'm living as an average American college kid.
If you have a pet, tell me about it! If you don’t have a pet, why not? Would you like one? Would you not like one? I have two pets: A black lab/retriever and a tabby cat. I didn't want either of them. I mean, I love them...but I never wanted them. I didn't want to be responsible for them. I still have to be, unfortunately...My vote was the minority, so we still got the pets. Our dog is epileptic, and our cat is a runt which means she's sickly on top of being tiny. In other words, she pukes ALL the time. It's just a mess...I love animals, but I don't love living with them. When I move out, no more pets for me. No siree. I'll love on other people's pets, and be eternally happy that I don't have to clean up after them, too.
I’m stealing the bodymod question, because I LOVE bodymods. Do you have any bodymods, piercings, tattoos, etc? Can I see them? Only one set of pierced ears. So common I doubt you'd need a picture to see it. ;) I have this thing with needles...the sight and contact of them just make my blood sugar drop. I get all manner of squeamish and nauseous. It took forever for me to get used to pulling needles out of my earlobes all the time. I don't want to get re-used to it by getting more piercings.
If you do have any tattoos, why did you get them? If you don’t, why not? For/against them? I didn't get tattoos because NEEDLES. THEY'RE SCARY. And my physical reaction to needles is less than attractive, so it's best to just not get any tattoos. Though if needles weren't an issue for me, I'd probably get an ivy design or a spiderweb design along my foot or something...Because that'd be really cool, I think! I draw those designs on my foot with a sharpie regularly because I can't afford henna. :P
Any religious beliefs? Specific or nonspecific. I am a protestant. Not of any specific branch...at least not of the well known variety. My denomination is referred to as the CMA or, "Christian and Missionary Alliance." We're very much an outreach kind of faith. Our mission is to serve, primarily. We fund missionaries to go to third world countries and be of service there, not just for faith reasons, but for help reasons. There are missionaries who attend my church, for example, who are based in Guatemala and use their flight experience to help transport sick/injured people to places where they can get first world emergency medical attention.
I love LOVE science. Tell me your favorite scientific fact, area of study, thing, etc. Doesn’t matter. Anything related to science. If you don’t like science, WHY THE FUCK NOT? I can't think of anything at the moment because science is definitely NOT my forte. I'm more of a literary/philosophical mindset...But Creationism is fun to look into I guess. Like, the unique aspects of various animals such as Giraffes and hippos and woodpeckers and so on that all manage to defy the theory of evolution. It's kind of mind-blowing. I'd totally recommend looking into it mostly because of how fascinating it is from a purely scientific perspective. The intricacy in how the universe was created is just so mind boggling that it makes Creationism a theory well worth a moment's thought.
…I’m going to go into ethics here, because I’m out of ideas, and I love discussing ethics. There are five people tied down to a train track. A train is coming. There is no time to stop the train, or to untie any of those tied down, thus, there is nothing you can do. However, there is another track adjacent to this one with a single person tied down, also unable to be helped. In front of you, there is a lever which switches tracks, from the main path (5 people tied down) to the other path (1 person tied down). What do you do? I would turn the lever to the adjacent track, and help the one person try to wrestle free. I will stand between the person and the oncoming train so that if in the event the train comes through, I will have been able to at least attempt to block the other person from harm, in hopes that I could get that person free. It's easier to get one person free in a time constraint as opposed to five. I have a feeling that the sole person strapped on the one lane would have wanted me to save the others and have the train speed his direction instead. I know I'd've preferred it if it were me. I don't devalue his life by any means...but I can conjecture that man has the ability to be selfless and sacrificial in times of need. It's portrayed time and time again in both history books and in works of fiction. In the Wrath of Kahn, Spock famously said that the "needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few or the one." If my conjecture is inaccurate in regards to the sole victim, and he hates me for forcing the train his direction, then I hope to god that I manage to save his life rather than fail to if in the event the train blows over us both and he never wanted to die. But I feel like my attempt to preserve as many lives as possible--including his--should at least be worth something. But I guess in this case, at least five people will survive out of the seven who were present for this horrific scene. YAY ETHICS. Sorry I got long winded! I just...I think about this sort of thing a lot.
