Daily MCO Drink #407, MCO Day #409: PEGU CLUB, made with one dash Angostura Aromatic Bitters, 1 dash Angostura Orange Bitters, 1 part Widges London dry gin, 1/2 part Cointreau, shaken over ice and strained. A classic that dates back to the 1920s. I used the one from the Savoy Cocktail Book (1930). Deceptively simple to make, deliciously complex mix of flavours. The two bitters make the main difference here, with the Cointreau and gin surprisingly forming the background rather than being at the fore.
