There's only so many ways one could go with a name like Ephriam Ardhardt, and this particular Warlock chose the most obvious route. One day, Wraithvine would figure out what made them like that and stop it at the source. Alas, that particular quest was well out of hir reach.

As was Ardhardt's lair.

Because Ardhardt had deployed a most diabolical tactic to waylay Wraithvine - his grandfather. Who was clearly starved for attention, and had already been talking for a solid half-hour.

Well. I certainly went down a rabbit hole tonight.

Doing some research for another post led me to a two-part comic I'd never heard of, which turned out to be Batman: Orphans, a story that feels like a weirdly dark lost storyline of crossing over Tim's original Robin run with Dick's original Nightwing, which somehow came out in 2011. And then I look up the writer who turns out to have been Eddie Berganza, mostly known as an editor who would, a year after Orphans came out, be demoted from DC's Executive Editor to a lesser position, and then eventually let go in 2017, because of accusations of sexual harassment.

And now he owns a publishing venture with another guy DC fired for sexual harassment.

That's been a journey.

On the plus side I've learned so much about Horror tropes, discovered 3 new books that exist, edited 5 entries, and I'm about to delve into the fanfic recs.
