This one’s for all the problematic factives
Beings with problematic sources (including fictives and fictionkin) generally get the short end of the stick, but I feel like whatever gets thrown at fictives, gets thrown at factives (and factkin) worse.
So, I just want to remind you. You don’t have to feel bad about your source. You don’t need to source separate. You don’t need to spend your life repenting your source’s actions.
I am not my source. But, my source meant a lot to my system and my creation as a nostalgia holder reflects that. I know that there are problematic factives out there who very much are their source. You are valid too.
That being said, your source is not an excuse for bad behaviour. Sometimes, you’ll need to unlearn certain beliefs and behaviours that might stem from your source. That isn’t an attack on your source or you. It might suck at first, but trust me, it’ll be better in the long run.
