...no spoilers, but I did not have Monday's page (April 8, 2024) on my prediction bingo card, and if you did, I require notarized evidence.
Go ahead, ask me about my current prediction bingo card, which is this:
Some of these are guaranteed losers (I don't know why I think Her Royal Feline Gingerness is named Samantha; I just do), some of them pretty darn likely (the OT3 is canon OR WE RIOT), but I had fun tracking them down in my head.
And here's a template if you'd like to play too!
I would ABSOLUTELY LOVE to see your bingo card. If you fill it out, please tag me.
(...but I still don't believe you had Monday's page on it.)
do you think they’re heading to London soon?
Have no idea but if they’re both going (most likely), my guess is they go to LA first and then to London
You never know with these two, seems like that island is their new favorite spot 😒
Persona 5 Characters as Guessed by Me
So my wife plays the Persona games, and carefully shielded me from watching them play until they finished with the plot. And now they showed me the pictures so I could guess at their descriptions. Let’s do this.
Dandypants, idolizes the United Kingdom (thinks he's James Bond), definitely a sub
Like a perverted Meowth, pops up when most awkward, visible only to the party
I know his name is Joker but I'm going to pretend I don't.
The "cool edgy punk", extremely extra, has ridiculous dream weapons but shops at the dollar store in reality
Got a Buffy the Vampire Slayer thing going on. Probably makes fun of the main character for a while. Definitely shows cute vulnerability way later on.
In a different game, this dude would, like, throw knives. The keys make me think he's an over-fancy janitor. He's the one with the master plan. Maybe turns out to be evil.
Cynical and dismissive at the start. Maybe actually the smart one. Doesn't talk much but when she does it's absolutely cutting.
Here's the hacker. Very high-pitched voice. Like the Q to James Bond, but a fanservice Q.
Probably named like Daisy or something. Doesn't believe there's anything dangerous going on until she runs into like a hellbeast or something. Surprises everyone by wielding a fucking dream chainsaw or whatever.
The rich kid. Absolutely full of himself, but becomes good friends with the edgy punk dude by the end. Too cool for melee fighting.
HUH, I WONDER IF HE MIGHT BE A VILLAIN. Sinister vizier-like accountant. Not the final boss, but you're supposed to think he is.
What is your best guess in what order you think the upcoming books will be dropping and days? I was waiting on mother of the year this month but didn’t expect it to be almost the last day of the month. I don’t think the fantasy book will drop until December
Oooh...
Ok, so Bloodbound is winding down. It has probably two chapters left. We already know Mother of the Year is premiering on a Friday and it will premiere likely the same week as the Bloodbound finale.
AME will likely be back in early September and will probably still be a Wednesday Book. Sunkissed probbaly has 6-7 chapters left, counting tomorrow, bringing it to the end of September or early October. I also think Class Act will be back in September, though whether it is a Monday Book or another day remians to be seen.
Desire and Decorum and Big Sky Country have just started and both have a dozen or so chapters left, meaning they won’t be done until mid-November, the Royal Heir has confirmed 10 chapters left, Bachelorette Party also has at least 10 chapters to go, so end of October/early November for them, while Platinum likely has 5-8 chapters left, and Red Carpet Diaries 5 chapters left. So that means Thursday and Friday will see vacancies first.
Open Heart will come back on Friday, I am sure, probbaly when RCD wraps up, so early October, I’d guess.
Save the Date looks to the the next new book coming and probably in September and I am guessing they will keep up their one new series a month release, especially as there aren’t that many sequels currently waiting. So that means four new series. Save the Date, Blades of Light and Shadows, Distant Shores and one more, hopefully the Renaissance book.
I think they will space out the two bigger books. I think we will likely see the fantasy book first becuase they had teased a sneak peak of it first, probably in October, and then the Renassiance book (I hope) in November, and the pirate book in December. But with a lack of sequels on the horizon, we might get another new book or two thrown in as a surprise.
Do you think it's likely that Damien won't be able to make a decision regarding Arum/Rilla and the stabbing of, due to a sudden interruption by Quanyi and/or Sir Caroline? Part of me wants to see how things play out with just the three of them in the room, but I also want to see what would happen if someone else tried to attack Arum, and Damien's reaction to that
We’ve already got a hint of Damien’s reaction: when he first came looking for Arum, he thought that Arum had already been executed by the monsters. When he found him, he was relieved to find him still alive. He was terrified of the thought of finding Arum dead.
DAMIEN: I thought you were dead. He told me, the monster, I thought you were… and I lived it, oh I lived it a thousand times in a second’s space, and how can this moment’s truth be but a droplet in that endless, churning sea I’ve drowned in…
ARUM: Oh, stop it. If you plan to kill me, you’ll get no sympathy. I’m sorry if that hurts your “feelings,” takataka.
DAMIEN: (DISTANT, FOGGY; HAS LEGITIMATELY FORGOTTEN) Kill you…? But… I…ARUM: Your knife is drawn, honeysuckle. I’m a monster, not an idiot. (Hallowed Halls of Helicoid)
I’d love for these three to actually get a chance to sit down and have an actual conversation. But right now Damien is severely sleep-deprived, he’s been working himself into a nonstop panic, he’s been marching and riding for weeks on a broken leg, and he’s convinced himself that this is all an illusion anyway. I don’t know if he’s even capable of rational thought at this point, just because he’s pushed himself so far for so long.
We know that Talfryn and Angelo are going to show up looking for Damien any minute now, and that Sir Caroline and Quanyi will come looking for their turn to kill and dismember Arum, and that’s going to turn into absolute chaos.
Some possibilities:
Damien tries to kill Arum and is subdued.
Damien tries to kill Arum and succeeds.
Damien tries to kill Arum and Rilla intercedes, and he finally gives up and collapses into a sobbing puddle on the floor.
Damien tries to kill Arum and Rilla intercedes, and Damien tries to attack her instead.
Talfryn sees Rilla trying to defend Arum; after the traumatic way he killed Helicoid, Talfryin is really doubling down on the whole Not Killing Monsters thing, and he’s especially not going to let them die if Rilla says not to. He comes to Rilla’s defense.
Talfryn, is still way overstressed and overstimulated from everything that happened since they arrived, and suddenly all this talk about illusions and mind-alteration and manipulations puts him over the edge. He shuts down and goes nonverbal.
Angelo, trying harder to listen to Talfryn, backs Talfryn up and helps subdue Damien.
Angelo appeals to Sir Caroline, reminding her of Vivian and the Crocodile-Hound
Angelo takes Damien’s side, pointing out that Arum is the one who kidnapped Rilla in the first place.
Sir Caroline, realizing that Rilla is in love with Arum, stands to defend the two of them from Damien, and helps to persuade Damien that this is in fact real.
Sir Caroline, determined to fill her role as Inspector General, tries to kill Arum herself.
Sir Caroline, realizing that Rilla is in love with Arum, tries to arrest and execute Rilla for treason. Damien and Talfryn freak out and defend Rilla against her.
Quanyi eggs everyone on and adds to the chaos, just for the hell of it
Quanyi flirts with 90% of the people present, also for the hell of it
Marc arrives with Dampierre, because we need even more chaos in this scene
Other monsters– possibly guards– arrive and arrest everyone
Other monsters arrive and all the humans + Arum team up to fight them off
Literally anybody tries to hurt Rilla and literally everybody else jumps up to defend her.
Somebody successfully kills Arum, leaving Rilla and Damien devastated– and then Arum comes back to life, because he’s got lizardly regeneration powers. Quanyi explains this to them as if they’re all very stupid for not knowing it already.
Tyranny and Wick are so interesting as colour scheme pairing because the rest of their vibes don't match. Wick looks like some sort of rich sorcerer, Tyranny looks like a nun and her clothing looks more handmade. There's obvious stitching.
Like they're absolutely part of the same faction or at least are pretending to be, but I wonder if they're from very different parts of said faction. And they're both like: okay great same team-- wait you do what?
My big guess is Hal is a D&D equivalent of a reporter. His emoji tease makes me think college of lore.
Ties in with him having the handkerchief. He has ties for access (press credentials).
So did a big part spreading the word about the Falconer rebellion, but has a bit of a disconnect with his brother (twin or younger) who very much became a central figure. Brother thinks he should focus on their faction.
...
Or he's a historian and tension comes from him wanting to preserve history pre sundering of the gods.
