Delicious free tea

I foraged some tea and it tasted yummers so here’s the recipe thing

fermented dried bramble leaves (harvest June)

dried blackcurrants (July)

dried blackcurrant leaves (July)

dried wild strawberry leaves (July)

dried herb Robert leaves and flowers (July)

dried red clover petals (July)

I didn’t measure anything I just got a couple handfuls of each, stuck it in the dehydrator and put in a bit of each until it smelled good lol. It’s super yummers. (This is in Ireland btw, kinda relevant for the ingredients I guess). Just pop in a heaped teaspoon of the tea into hot water, let it stew to your liking and enjoy!

(btw this was all from the field outside my house, which I know wasn’t sprayed with anything! Please be safe with your foraging, and triple check your plant identification sources!!)

What type of pine needles make the best tea? Should they be fresh or does drying them work too?

Fresh and dry both work great! You do need a real pine tree though, the needles need to be firm and in pairs of two. Otherwise you might be ingesting something poisonous, so be careful before foraging!

I know people have been making sweets with pine needles too but I prefer the tea, it has a great 'cherering up' effect when I drink some!

Harvested some of our gorgeous Meadowlight wild mint. Some will hang dry for a good long time, and some is getting oven-dried and made into tea this afternoon! There’s soooo much more where this came from! 🌿💕

- string bean (stick mantis) very skittish and fast-moving which adds to her goofiness

- rosewood (ghost mantis) love the thing she does where she looks over her “shoulder” at me, she does it all the time

- cadenza (wandering violin mantis) her wiggles are immaculate

- seven (chinese mantis) chill as a tiny bug can be

- wild tea (jewelled flower mantis) zero to one hundred in speed always
