Happy 1st #impactday of 2021! Yes please, I know the holidays are going to be different and potentially difficult but we can be better, less wasteful and more conscious about our choices, remeber what happened over lockdown when we gave nature a break from us, birdsong, animals roaming towns & freah air. While out exploring yesterday I was dismayed to see so much trash on this beautiful stretch of beach. Come on people let protect our environment, dispose of your trash correctly and if you see trash on the beach or hiking trails pick it up. On Earth Day I was on vacation in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico. I decided to walk along the beaches near my resort and pickup garbage. I found broken glass, a tube sock, a small plastic beach ball, a single kids Croc shoe, a banana peel and various plastics/micro plastic. • The one good thing is that I found NO plastic single use straws!!!! The resort we were staying at banned them and dont have any on their property! Small wins like that make me happy!! • They also promoted putting your cigarette butts in small plastic cones provided to eveyone at the beach.
