...just waiting for my precious white pencil to arrive to do final highlights and then this piece is done! Both are gorgeous, gorgeous robins - but are you team GB or team USA?!

I actually rather like the simplicity of this piece already - if only I could just leave it like this 😂 A larger piece, really enjoying the colder, desaturated colours.
I'm still in the realm of pastels and seeing how my colour pencil skills transfer - both similar and very different! I do love how opaque and vibrant the pastels are.
I was not enjoying the paper I chose for the colour pencil pigeon kiss so I decided to do a smaller version of it in pastel.
Really liking where it is going so far (except for this terrible photo, taken at night, because I always forget to take a photo during the day...)
Such a round birb! I have overworked the paper, worked the wrong way round (always go dark to light with pastels....) and added far too many layers already, and I am loving it :) .
Love the moody tone to the original photo! Shame I have very few grey pencils, it's not so easy to capture the subtleties! Enjoying the process of telling my brain *not* to draw every single feather as well XD
