Wild Tomato: August Donation Creation
This month's Donation Creation is a delightful Shrimp & Grits pizza: Sauteed shrimp, red peppers, roasted red onions, cooked greens, tomatoes and corn grits over a roasted rep pepper base and topped with an incredible cayenne goat cheese and a roasted rep pepper drizzle.
Our non-profit of the month is the Door County String Academy. The Door County String Academy is dedicated to providing our community with positive and quality string education. Door County public and private school systems don't currently offer any string education within their curriculum and the String Academy fills this need by offering access to instruments, lessons, and performance experiences.
To get involved, make your own donation or to learn more about the Door County String Academy, email [email protected].

We're looking forward to a great month supporting this wonderful group!

July Donation Creation Blog
Making a special appearance as our Donation Creation for July is a returning favorite, the Thai Pie! Chicken, basil, cilantro, red & green peppers and red onion over a green curry cream cheese base. All topped with carrots, pea shoots and a chili-lime drizzle. It's spicy, refreshing and delightful.
Our non-profit of the month is Fifth Quarter Foundation, Inc., located right here in Door County. Founded by former NFL player Casey Rabach and his wife Nicole, Fifth Quarter was created to improve children’s education, recreation and women’s health. While active in the NFL, Casey and Nicole were active in various non-profit organizations. When they moved back to Sturgeon Bay in 2012, they decided it was time to give back to their community and start their own organization. After playing four quarters every Sunday for over a decade, it was now time to begin the “Fifth Quarter” of their lives.

June Beverage Update Blog
The Light, The Dark and the Fruity
The sun is finally starting to thaw us out from such a long winter, which means we need to evaluate what to drink this summer:
Perfect for drinking in the sun, is Professor Fritz Briem’s 1809 Berliner Weisse. Berliner Weisse style brews are light, slightly sour wheat beers that generally have a lower ABV. Lighter in body than your typical Spotted Cow or Big O, 1809 Berliner Weisse has a tart, lemony taste that balances out the wheat. This unique style won’t be as heavy as a full-fledged wheat beer, but it measures in at 5% ABV. Funky, yet refreshing.
On the complete other end of the spectrum, we recently added the incredibly smooth Imperial Stout by Nøgne Ø to our beer lineup. This beer is a decadent one, with roasty malt and rich dark chocolate and coffee flavors. She also packs a punch, clocking in at around 9% ABV. Nøgne Ø (which translates to ‘Naked Island’) hails from Norway, where their vision is to bring diversity and innovation into commercial brewing. This Imperial Stout is velvety smooth, with a little bit of bittersweetness that shapes it into the perfect after-pizza beer.
In the event that you’re needing something to satisfy the sweet tooth, look no further than our seasonal sangria. Everyone loves a good traditional red sangria, so we like to try some funky things with our white sangria. June’s signature concoction is dandelion-rhubarb-cherry, made with our own white wine blend and vermouth. Sweet and refreshing, with delightful floral notes that perfectly sets a summer tone.
And for those of us not wanting to catch any kind of buzz, grab a mug of Frostop Root Beer on tap. Frostop has been around since 1926, so it’s safe to say they know what they’re doing. It’s smooth, with hints of vanilla and honey- just the right amount of sweetness for a hot day.
