Sandman Vol 2 19 was published with a cover date of September 1990. The issue took place in 1593 and once more featured William Shakespeare. The issue introduced to the Sandman universe King Auberon, Dick Cowley, Hamnet Shakespeare, Henry Condell, Richard Burbage, Will Kemp, Queen Titania, Nixies, Peasblossom, Skarrow, and Puck/Robin Goodfellow. They were a mixture of historical figures and creations of William Shakespeare and were imagined for the comics by Neil Gaiman and Charles Vess.
