The First Werewolf, William Corvinus
Monster fuckers, come get ya’ll food
Say whatever you want, but the first three Underworld movies still slap (and I don’t dislike the two later ones either).
Are they objectively good? Not really. But are they entertaining? Absolutely.
Practical effects that still hold up, a female lead from the 2000s, vampires and werewolves waring, action, lore. They’re just fun, and we need more movie franchises that aim to be nothing else.
Also, it has my favourite werewolf design of all time put on screen:

Fires
Will: All I wanted was to feel something stronger than anger. The pain seemed the most feasible option.
Mikael: Oh. Well, what is stronger than anger? Only the pain?
Will: There are three fires: the anger, that consumes you quickly, leaving a burning ember bed; the pain, that spurs you like red-hot nails, and may last only a moment or continue forever; and the passion, smoldering, burning you in the most sweet and delicious way you could imagine. I had anger: rage and despair condensed into pure anger, so I thought that, since I could not have the passion, the pain was a good alternative.
