I'm very pleased to report, that after prospecting the neighbourhood for (an unfeasible number of) years, Moonshine the Stray has finally found his forever home, with Harriet and Robert! Look at that smile. 😊

Meanwhile, Robert is finally getting started on the garden. It's been a cold spring, with snow remaining on the ground much longer than usual, but he's been itching to start planting.

Harriet thinks that Moonshine might be even happier with a bit of feline company, and from the list of kittens currently waiting for adoption, she chooses Moppet.

Who - thanks to my pet lifespan mod - promptly ages up, into a floofball!

The Tilney Family Album: Volume XVIII

While Alexander and Theophilus complete their studies at uni, let's see how Alexander's dad and step-mum are doing, rattling around the family home all on their own for the first time in over 40 years.

Well, they're certainly still enjoying each other's company - over leisurely pancake breakfasts.

But they do miss having the younger generation around, and play host to family gatherings at every opportunity.

It's just like old times.

Even Jasper and Bennet manage to be civil to each other, for their parents' sake.

Henry is also enjoying mentoring some of the younger staff at the hospital, such as Clara.

He quickly found some common ground with Willoughby - over their shared fascination with all things science - and his new acquaintance is particularly intrigued to hear the out-of-this-world tale of Alexander's conception.

Kobe the ex-stray has settled in well with his new family - even without his first friend Alexander being around - but it's hard to shake the habits of his past life on the streets, and he's taken to sleeping in the oddest places.

Maybe having his own bed will help him to feel that he's finally at home. Sleep tight!

The Smith Family Album: Volume XVIII

Zippy's new friend does not look like he'll be a good influence on him - he really doesn’t need an excuse to pick up any more bad habits!

He doesn't like Willoughby's sister Anna though. But to be honest, he's not a big fan of Sims in general. 😕

Dorian also has a new pal, in Philippa.

And Annemarie is getting to know Augustus - big brother of her good friend Anthony - although how she feels about him remains to be seen. So far, the only Sim outside his family (and even some of them don't like him) who doesn't find him objectionable is his Townie girlfriend Brittany!

With Margaret's credibility within the scientific community in tatters, and her employability at zero, Willoughby has had to become the breadwinner in the family, and has found himself a job as a paramedic.

Meanwhile, financial independence beckons for Annemarie!

If her other new acquaintance Emma - from her new high school - thinks that Annemarie looks faintly ridiculous, she's far too polite to say.

Anyway, who cares, as long as it's lucrative!

And look who's unexpectedly expecting again!

And starving hungry in the middle of the night.

There's something reassuring about having a paramedic in the house, when she goes into labour.

It's another boy!

Welcome to Merybury, Josiah! Despite having a tiny house, Willoughby had been quietly hoping to become a father again - just once more - even if Margaret will be the stay-at-home parent this time, rather than him.

And happy birthday too! (Phew, that was a whirlwind.)

The Smith Family Album: Volume IX

Things are moving fast for Harriet and Robert.

Very fast! Robert is clearly a man who knows what he wants.

Harriet certainly likes Robert a lot, but whether or not it’s love, she’s not entirely sure yet. But, all she has ever wanted is to get married, and she knows full well that this could be her last chance! So, the answer just has to be yes.

Meanwhile, back at the ranch, son Willoughby and his fiancée Margaret have moved in, and are making rather public use of the facilities.

A quiet Sunday morning with the Smith family.

Annemarie is becoming quite a proficient musician.

Later the same day, they host a family get together,...

which swiftly turns into a gaming marathon, with granddad Christopher putting everyone to shame!

Thankfully, Christopher doesn't seem to have been scarred by his previous experience in the Smith hot tub.

It's also time to introduce a new family member.

Welcome to the family, Zippy! (Previously of the Morland family.)

No, Willoughby, puppies cannot double as bookmarks. Or maybe he's being very ambitious, and hoping to teach his new pal to read?

Zippy is comfortably installed in his new home.

Margaret and Willoughby had always hoped to give Annemarie a sibling.

But it just wasn't happening, until now. That really is one enormous bump!

Let's have a wedding, shall we?

Congratulations, Willoughby and Margaret Smith!

It was a beautiful summer's day, so the couple held a party in the garden for their nearest and dearest.

Willoughby contentedly settles into being a stay-at-home dad to little Annemarie, whose birthday I completely missed somehow.

And now she's due another one!

Pay attention, Marianne, it's your granddaughter's big day!

With Annemarie off to bed, granddad Christopher learns a valuable lesson about not sitting outdoors in a tub of water in a thunderstorm. Marianne seems to find the incident amusing more than anything.

Later that night...doing her bit for public safety, friendly neighbourhood thief Jessica Ebadi relieves the family of the hazardous hot tub, thus preventing any future tragedies.

The Hartfield House Yearbook: Volume VII

Willoughby and Margaret were fully intending to take it slow, but despite their best efforts, their feelings just end up running away with them anyway.

With finals looming, everyone is...surfing the Web. Except for Robert, who is being very diligent, good lad!

Once the exams are finally over, Willoughby doesn’t waste another moment, to make Margaret his own forever.

This engagement thing is catching, and Selina decides to give it a whirl too.

Simon, however, is not interested in following the trend. And it was such a sparkly ring too!

The graduation party is a family affair. Now that Gabriel has discovered flirting, he’s keen to practise it at every opportunity, while Benjamin’s impromptu demonstration of his artistic prowess garners some admirers.

Catherine’s parents bizarrely spend the entire party in a clinch outside the front door.

But that’s OK, as she is currently engrossed in long-term boyfriend Miles.

Who thought it was a good idea to invite both Benjamin and Clara to the party?! (That would be me...)

And then it’s time for everyone to re-join the real world. For some - such as Willoughby and Margaret - their future path is already marked out, but for Catherine, with her relationship with Miles still on an uncertain footing, the shape of her life is yet to be determined.

The Willoughby Family Album: Volume II

It’s someone’s birthday, and they’re going to bounce on the bed if they want to!

It’s someone else’s birthday too. 

Caroline unfortunately is at work - doing whatever it is that Senators do - so John gathers his kids to help him celebrate.

Then it’s Louisa’s turn.

And they get the worst birthday present ever! Georgia might have been with the family only a short time, but she ended her days being well loved, and as an important companion to a lonely child.

John gets a gift too, but a rather more acceptable one. He and Caroline have had Wants to get married to each other for a long time, and Caroline decides that now is the time to act.

So John receives the third marriage proposal of his life...

...and this time he says yes! Much to the delight of Louisa.

A little private celebration...

...while Louisa gets to know their half-siblings better over cake.

Caroline ends the evening hanging out in the bathroom with step-son-to-be Willoughby - in his swimming trunks - as you do.

Louisa has felt for a while that something wasn’t quite right. The dress they wore for their birthday celebration was certainly very pretty, but somehow it just felt all wrong on their body. So, now they’re a teen and more free to make their own decisions, they’re trying out something different, just to see how it feels.

Yes, definitely more comfortable in their own skin.

A lot more comfortable.

And with that, Louisa sets about becoming a well-rounded individual (while making themselves useful at the same time).

There’s no time like the present, and no one is getting any younger, so let’s get this wedding underway!

And just like that, John is finally a married man! The kids couldn’t be more pleased.

Cake-smooshing, of course.

And a toast to the newlyweds, led by Louisa, looking very dapper in their new suit.

Is it just me, or is John looking like he’s starting to regret this already?

Willoughby brings girlfriend Margaret to the wedding, to get to know his family better.

There’s only time for the couple to have the briefest of honeymoons, and while they’re away Louisa finds a new friend to play with - Scout the Stray reminds them of Georgia.

Back home, and ready to embark on married life together.
