I thought I’d send a link out to my first ever story of AO3. It’s a fluffy piece for a world connecting with an old old one from my deviant days.

He was getting over you. He stopped reaching across the bed for you, stopped tearing up when you weren’t there. When something good happened, he no longer felt the urge to tell you. He thought he was improving. The pain was going away.

One of your friends recognized him on the street. They said that they’d seen him in a picture of yours, and asked if he knew you. In that second, two year’s worth of flashbacks streamed behind his closed eyes. He merely cleared his throat, gave a fake smile, and said “I did once.”

That night he drowned himself in liquor, wishing that his spaceman would come back.
