Local Gathering 2009ish

I didn't have anything prepped to wear, so I threw together my clothes to suit the vibes of Final Fantasy X-2 Gunner Yuna / Kingdom Hearts II Fairy Yuna.

Unyuu and I misusing sewing scissors lol.

My final project for my art class was to make textile art using only what was available in the classroom. One was a paper dress made out of a romance novel where half the pages are burnt on the edges to represent disillusionment of fairytale romance. The bodice and some pages had metal trim cut from the edges of metal sheets from whatever the precursor to the Xerox was. and then soft pink ribbon laced through the punch holes.

The other was a muslin dress that I mixed red and blue dye to dip dye the skirt and then paint butterfly details on. The straps were made with copper wire and felt washer circle things. The wings were held up with skewers glued together inside. The back had an embossed brass plate as closure/counter weight to the front.

After the art show, I wore it to a cosplay gathering so I could get some photos of it. Spring '10 Pics by...OscarC, PrototypeM, and BlizzardTerrak iirc
