Stained Glass City

Frisk still feels bad about overreacting to Chara's little white lie. They've been sitting on it for days and replaying the conversation over and over, and even though things between them are normal-- Frisk just can't get it out of their head.

So, when they saw the cool advertisement for making things of volcanic glass, they immediately knew they wanted to make something for Chara.

What they don't realise is just how hard deciding what to make is.

They look at their tray full of various glass pieces, and sit at the nearest open spot between people working-- a man with wings. The memory of Chara telling them about him surfaces.

"Um... hello, sorry, do you mind if I sit here...?" They ask, gesturing to the empty space. They wouldn't want to be rude! It looked like he was making something too...

"So I really can't join your Avengees huh?" Oliver asks with a pout. He shakes his head, "I don't wanna be some ghost that haunts the workers there. I wanna be at the frontline FIGHTING and HELPING too!"

It sounded so cool and it was something he was so familiar with. Damn, one: he can't even join the fighting in the underground that Dar'khol ran and two: he couldn't even join in helping fight or protect. Such a shame really.

"You... don't want the highlighters back?" Kay squints, looking the guy up and down. What's with this bird guy? Who even stays at the office this late?

Truthfully, when she saw something about vigilante-types, she was curious. They'd probably never hire a kid, but if she could get a peek at their files, maybe she'd learn places she could help some people out.

...the highlighters were a detour. Old habits die hard.

"Are you some kinda workaholic or something? It's night time. Shouldn't you be at home?"

The point of a story like this is you can't let anyone know you're from another world, right? But maybe she was wrong about the genre of this story; maybe it's a crossover isekai, because isn't that one of the guys from one of the anime series she's seen? Which one is it? Heroic... something? Heroic Education? That's not it, but it's on the tip of her tongue-

They make eye contact, and Uzi gives a small jump before turning away. She hadn't even realized she was staring, there's just a lot to take in right now. Talking to any human, let alone this guy, seems like too much right now, so maybe she should retreat to the relative safety of- of literally anywhere else right now.

But the sun is high in the sky, higher than she's realized, and the instant she exits the shade, her body starts to sizzle. It probably wouldn't kill her, but it's uncomfortable as hell, and so she flinches back into the shade. So much for falling back, she thinks as she looks around for an exit. But as she's looking, she makes eye contact with that hero guy again, because now he's watching her.

"I could just chance it," she mutters to herself as she turns away again. "What's worse? Dying or having to live out this embarrassment?"

Looks like a human but... those wings.

Admittedly, a long time ago his fantasies had involved him having wings, but the more he thinks about it the more he realizes how unwieldy they may have been. Especially while performing.

Oh well.

"My. Are you some sort of superhero?" He asks, then points at the hiring signage on the front door. Mettaton had seen him lingering outside of the agency, so he'd assumed he was associated with the business. And, with a little more distaste in his tone, he follows it up with, "Or just the police?"

Exposure therapy IS a thing, isn't it? And bit by bit she was exposing herself to small fire. When her home was blocked off, along with everyone else's, she thought she could handle anything, but this is a bit...

She feels it. The panic scratches at her like a million tiny insects. She feels she can't breath, her heart beats against her chest LOUD and strong. In her arms curls up the small monster. She shields it from the flames.

No matter WHERE she'd disappear and reappear to, everywhere is the same.

There's fire everywhere.

"...Sukuna..."

She calls like a helpless child, in hopes that he'd find her in this chaos.

Oh. That's a big bird!

...Nope, not a bird, that is a person with wings. Wings he doesn't recognize, at least. He's not sure whether that's a good or bad thing yet. He absolutely still looks startled as fuck as he looks up at the stranger flying over head.

"Those are some cool wings, dude."

Another day, another round around the city trying to explore every nook and cranny! Which is really just another excuse to stretch his legs, running wherever his feet will take him. Nothing but a blue streak of light as zips from one place to another, only stopping whenever something catches his eye.

Like someone with really cool wings flying overhead!

"WOAH-- is that Archangel? No, wait... hey! You up there! You look cool!" It's unfortunate that he can't fly unless going Super. He can, however, run up the side of a tall building to be a little more at eye-level. Even if relatively briefly. "You look like somethin' out of a comic book. Do you like comic books? I've read a lot of 'em."
