This was my ficbinding project for the 2022 Renegade Bindery Exchange. The fic has a lot of horror elements, both regarding Lan Wangji's curse and with the modern casefic portion of the fic, and I decided to lean into them for the book design (possibly because I started this project in October).
The cover is made with layered paper cutouts (cut by sawing with the edge of a knife, to get a rougher look) in three different textured papers. The endpapers are the same red paper I used on the cover, with suminagashi marbling and backed with black. I used black leather for the endbands and dark red leather for the spine.
Summary: In a world where supernatural creatures are coveted for their powers, and often kept as pets, Dean and Sam are infamous hunters. Known for capturing creatures too dangerous to own and selling the ones that aren't. When they hear about an Angel sighting, they know they have to find this rare and dangerous winged creature. With a help of an Enochian book with instructions on taming Angels, they manage to capture Castiel. When things take an interesting turn between Dean and the creature, Sam realizes he may have made a translation error that will change his brother's life forever.
Comments: 8/10. It’s cute and Cas is adorable. Dean thinks the ritual is a taming ritual, but it’s a mating one. Don’t worry, they end up falling in fluffy love. I don’t know how I feel about the ending, it feels a little rushed, at least to me.
Nate was a little disappointed when he found out that he was a fire paragon. He always saw his mom use her water element with such efficiency and care, always finding ways to use it to give life to other living things.
Being able to burn things on command doesn't have the same effect.

Endverse Cas for me! Although I adore crazy Cas and human Cas as well (and you just reminded me that I haven't seen the episode with fem Cas. I should rectify that!)

when i start typing and suddenly i can’t stop, and my brain is just playing this movie and it’s going so fast and my fingers are just trying to keep up
march: do you listen to music whilst writing?
i either listen to music or a tv show i know well or that isn’t too distracting. sometimes, rarely, i write in complete silence
november: do you have any rituals or requirements for getting in the mood for writing?
not really, except have something stimulating and calming to listen to/watch most of the time, and sometimes i can spend hours just to find the right sound to calm me down or put me in the mood.

all the comments of my fic Ne Me Quitte Pas are very emotional for me, people really took time to tell me about their emotions and feelings and it’s amazing.
I wish I could go on and tag many more people because honestly every single comment matters so much and I’m still floored by how many people take the time to write long paragraphs of love for my fics, it’s just incredible and if you’ve ever done that you’re my absolute best friend. I have to say, I'm actually crying right now. Going into this, I was kinda expecting a poorly informed kink fic, but I was pleasantly surprised. It had a lot of thought out into it and it had actual FACTS of bdsm, which I really enjoyed. I may not be into bdsm, but I know people who are and I've made sure to research the topic, so seeing it being written properly, filled me with immense happiness. The feelings I got while reading this fix were so intense I started crying at some parts and had to take a break, but it was worth it. I felt fear at some points, worrying that Dean didn't know what he was doing and would trigger Cas. I felt like I would explode with happiness seeing how much Dean wanted to cave and just care for Cas, but realising that this was something he NEEDED and continuing. And the down right sexiness of the other parts, hwoo, very well done. I was even angry at Dean for pushing Cas away, because I knew it would end badly. The aftercare part was what really got me, when Cas was saying that Dean didn't need to and Dean informing him that, yes, he did because this was IMPORTANT made me feel all warm and fuzzy and I definitely started crying at that point. You've done an amazing job conveying how bdsm, in a LOVING relationship works, and I can't thank or praise you enough for that. You are an amazing writer, and I for one pray you go far, although, I wouldn't worry too much. With your skill and imagination, I think you'll do perfectly fine. Have an amazing week
