Can’t stop thinking abt Robert kinda praising Winter, and now I’m obsessed w/ a deleted character just bc I can totally see him fitting into the Robert/Flambae/Waterboy dynamic.

Im like 90% sure your wish will become reality cuz they want to put winter in s2 and with everyone being angry at them for lgbt tag they will probably just put him with flambae

I’m not that confident about it tbh lol. I kinda became a Dispatch fan out of nowhere because i’m not really someone who plays games or keeps up with the behind-the-scenes stuff. I actually only checked the game out because of Aaron Paul and Jeffrey Wright since i’m way more into movies/tv shows.

All that just to say i’ve never followed second seasons of those choice-based games, so idk how they tie all the different endings together in the sequel or how they make that work with new characters and choices being added.

Either way i’d really love to see Winter in season 2, whether as a love interest or not. Idk, he just feels like he’s got the potential to be a really interesting character.

winter dispatch has taken over my brain literally ever since i first discovered he exists . therefore comma humble offerings of the headcanons/ ideas i think would be cool for him that have been swimming in my brain . note i latched onto him being a kpop idol Hard considering kpop's been a hyperfixation of mine on-and-off since ~2016 so literally all of these are about/ related to his idol years .

under the cut bc im a chronic yapper and this is Very Long

was part of a relatively small boy group (thinking maybe around 4 members including winter, 6 Max) whose concept was based off of them all being supers with vaguely-element-related powers . still trying to think of a name i think would be good

late 2nd gen- early 3rd gen group; were relatively underground until about 3 years after debut. tenatively saying they debuted in 2012 making him 17 at debut (and 28-29 in game provided it takes place in 2023-2024) (ive seen both years given for when the game takes place)

was part of the reason why his group blew up; they were on a show to help promote a pre-release for a comeback and a clip from it went viral of him and another member doing a dance cover of trouble maker by trouble maker (hyperlink to a dance practice reupload (the description gets the names of the members + their original groups wrong fsr)). winter took hyuna's part and he and the other member committed to the bit so hard that there was a dating scandal/ rumor between the two of them and the company had to put out a statement that it was just for "the love of the song"

id like to think he either came from a really underground company Or cube ent . one because ice cube (haha) and two because cube fucking Sucks as a company . if he Is from cube it just makes the trouble maker clip better in-context considering they were under cube

while they Did want to lean into the cold concept with him and his styling (with winter being his stage name (and where he gets his hero name from)) they also Really wanted to lean into showing off as much of the blue parts of his skin as they could get away with on live television so they did it in the most confusing ways possible . he literally Always had a tank top as part of his stage outfits with the only exception being if he was performing outside late at night/ in the winter . that exception only happened because he got so cold on stage once that he couldnt perform and fans boycotted the group's next comeback until the company declared they wouldnt do that again (and they listened for once) . they did this Knowing he was perpetually cold btw .

he HATEDDDD fan meets/ calls . he can only pretend to be nice for so long until he starts causing the room to get colder . he Had been known to play it up with fans he thought were attractive, though

his group disbanded due to the classic curse of their-contracts-expired-and-nobody-renewed-them after 7 years in 2019

winter was originally believed to have signed with one of the big 3 for either another upcoming boygroup or as a soloist due to photos of him with some of their artists after his group disbanded; while he did hang around with a lot of idols for definitely-not-espionage-related reasons, he hadn't planned on returning to the industry and instead wanted to focus on actually Doing Something with his powers .

he only started releasing music again sometime after joining sdn; it's mostly just singles or features on other songs . fans he had from when he was an idol Beg Him for an album release with features from his old group members

while he does have some fans that knew him from his idol days first, most of his fans nowadays are from when he joined sdn . running joke among some superhero fan spaces that winter was part of why some of them got into kpop/ gave it another chance after bts blew up

he still loves music and he Does enjoy everything he puts out post-disbandment, but he makes it very clear that he's more focused on his "responsibility as a super" nowadays and that music became more of a passtime to him

the trouble maker clip Haunts Him . like any time a post about him blows up literally anywhere someone's posted a link to a reupload of that entire segment of the show and/ or a gif of when the show host encouraged winter and his group member to do the ending pose and the editors made them both blush and had very-obviously-individually-placed-pngs of cherry blossom petals falling from the top of the screen . it also causes the dating rumor to pop back up every time and Every Time the other member in the clip responds to it by saying hes very much in love with his wife

cutting myself off for now bc big wall of text is kinda hard for me to read but i probably Will end up making another post when brain has more ideas settled in

rn brain's mostly debating on how his queerness relates to his idol work considering how homophobic korea was back then (and still kinda is) (bisexual beaming him and you Cannot stop me), what positions he was given in his boy group (right now brain's thinking of main dancer, lead vocalist, maybe sub-rapper ? like he has one song he goes Crazy on and then his company never made him rap again), as well as what drove him to move to america and join sdn (potentially under the phoenix program) (maybe running from some crimes he got up to in korea?)

feel free to take these and run with them/ twist them however you want btw :3 excited to see it if anything Does come from this lmao

I’ve been thinking about Winter, that cut character from Dispatch that may show up in season two

He was described as a kpop star, so I don’t think it’s a stretch to think he just might be Korean. And then if we work on the assumption that Robert is half-Korean, we’ve got an interesting dynamic

Winter is a semi-famous to famous musician who is doing some espionage on the side. Mecha Man caught him once, but the man paid enough money to walk free. Because of this, Mecha Man starts out hating Winter, but the musician is more idly curious about Mecha Man

As they keep crossing paths, they learn more about each other. Robert comes to empathize with Winter because he’s being exploited as a musician and is only doing spy work to get medicine for his powers which will freeze him alive otherwise

Winter, mostly, bonds with Robert because spending time with Robert is just good for the soul. Though Robert’s rusty, he knows Korean, letting Winter speak in his native tongue. And then Robert is so kind and hardworking despite it all that Winter starts feeling less nihilistic about humanity. He even starts feeling a bit protective over Robert and this goodness inside him, almost like an older brother

And then, skipping to post-game, Winter comes to see Robert’s new job. The Z-Team do not like him, at least at first

Flambae and Winter have opposing powers. Flambae is also obviously jealous because it’s just gotta be Flambert with me

Prism is a bit prickly about Robert being close with another pop star

Those are the ones I was thinking of, anyway. But Winter is just a chill guy (pun intended). Just like the beginning of his relationship with Robert, he doesn’t care that they hate him because he’s both curious about them and because he sees the good they’re doing Robert

It would've been awesome if Adhoc kept the spy plotline in Dispatch

I can't find it anymore, but I swore there was something that said she was originally going to be a double agent for the Red Ring. Maybe I made that shit up in my head

But think about it! If we had these two, plus we kept Invisigal being very untrustworthy, there could've been a whole side plot of Robert trying to figure out which one of them is the spy. Around the time of him cutting a member of the Z-Team, Robert could've excused Winter or Invisigal because one has a documented history of espionage and the other has powers most suitable for that

This would only add to Robert's arc of becoming a good dispatcher who believes in the Z-Team and their improvement instead of thinking that they'll just revert to what they once were. This would also be another moment in Invisigal's mentorship arc where you lose points for accusing her and possibly gain them by defending her (and maybe even a bonus point if you decide to defend Winter, too, because if they did keep the love triangle, that would mean Robert is defending Winter because he genuinely believes in Winter and not because of 'friendship' or whatever)

I know they likely cut this plot because of time, money, and space within the story. I respect that. I'm not mad at the story for not giving me something when it's already done so much

I'm just saying that it could've played out nicely in season one since Robert would be at the end of his arc in season two. Unless, of course, the possibility of a spy plants seeds of doubt in Robert's mind which means the player must either reaffirm their beliefs or abandon them

The only issue with that is if Psychic and Winter join the team, and now we have a spy, it's obvious that one of them is doing it. Winter might have the espionage background, but Psychic quite literally worked with Shroud in the Red Ring as seen in season one, so... I'll just say it's not going to make Robert doubt everyone on the Z-Team, which is ideally what we would want for this kind of arc

But it's fine, y'know. I don't need Adhoc. I can make a spy au where these two were part of the team at the very beginning. This would allow me to write about them both because it's actually hilarious that the two characters that are just my type were cut :D

I mean, if Winter was a character, I'd be worse about him than I am about Robert, and you guys have seen how I am about Robert, so yeah, let's stay in the realm of fanfic where I can do whatever the fuck I want until season two comes out

Wrote chapter one of Repaying the Favor, aka @spacedace ‘s prompt

I have definitive plans for Waterboy (who I just wrote) and Malevola, so they’re going first. I have characters chosen for Punch Up, Prism, and Flambae. I’ve got concepts for characters, I just need to decide who they’ll go with. I’ve also got some of you guys’ OCs that I need to figure out what to do with

As for who I’m doing: Waterboy, Phenomaman, Malevola, Sonar, Flambae, Prism, Invisigal, Golem, Punch Up, Coupé, Chase, Blonde Blazer, Galen, and Lightningstruck

Who I may do: Toxic, Psychic, and possibly Winter

This is a good one, anon

In terms of who wants kids and is most likely to actively pursue any avenues to have one, Flambae is top of the list. Part of him has resigned himself to just having a niece because he's aware that he's a criminal, gay, metahuman, has prickly personality, etc. which means adoption is impossible (or at least damn near) and he can't have one the natural way, either (unless we get superpowers involved). But he does want at least one kid of his own, and if the Phoenix Program extends to youths with juvenile records or dangerous powers, you can bet he's signing up to foster

I think Coupé would want a child, too. Ofc, she definitely has some growing and therapy to do, but I can see her loving being a mother. I think she'd be good at it, too. The only part she may be lacking is maybe fully understanding the child's range of emotions, but that's where Punch Up would come in. I don't think he wants kids in the same way Flambae and Coupé do. He's more positive than neutral, though. Like, he'd never bring it up, but if Coupé wants kids, he is 100% on board from the moment she's sure of doing this herself. I also think he'd be a great parent. He'd be emotional aware and understanding. He'd also be entertaining as hell which is not nothing

Sonar and Malevola do not want kids, but I have a feeling they're going to accidentally end up with one. Maybe together, maybe not. I feel like they're both uncle and aunt even when they're raising a kid that is their own. Not to say they aren't decent parents at the same time. I feel like they could cover each other's weaknesses, but that kid isn't likely to call either of them 'mom' or 'dad.'

Golem has a kid, so I can't really make any calls about that. I do think it'd be better if he had more life experience first, but it is what it is. I think he's got what it takes

I don't see Prism or Visi wanting kids. In the former's case, it's mostly just a focus on her career with maybe the smallest undercurrent of never having a father influencing it but it's mostly the career. The most she'll indulge is occasionally being maternal to Flambae's niece or his kid. And honestly, I think she'd agree to be his surrogate if he decided to go that route

As for Visi, yeah, she's mostly trauma. She's got all these issues she needs to work through before she ever comes close to thinking she wants a child of her own, and that day may very well not come. And that's perfectly fine. As long as she's happy

Waterboy hasn't thought of it much. He only had his grandmother. He knows having a child isn't the same as being a parent. Because of his powers, he doesn't get to have intimate relationships all that often (if at all), so it's just never really seemed like a genuine possibility for him. But once he finds that special someone, I think he'd really want to be a parent. He might have hang-ups over passing his power down, but everything would be all right in the world once he was holding his precious baby

Phenomaman has likewise never thought about having kids. He's ugly on his home planet, he doesn't have compatible genitalia, and he's so busy with saving the world (and finding love) that he just doesn't really think about it. I feel like if his partner said they wanted kids, he'd be neutral but accommodating toward it, and if they said they were pregnant, he'd be doing everything for this kid (bonus points if the traditions of his planet freak people out)

Now, to go the extra mile, if Psychic and Winter are included (since they were members of the Z-Team early in development but were cut for one reason or another), Psychic does not want kids at all, and she's probably too insane for one, anyway. Winter, I imagine, is somewhat like Phenomaman, except he doesn't plan on having kids. Between his career as a k-pop star, what he's seen as a spy (since he was charged with helping adulterers), and his powers (which seem to hurt/affect him), he doesn't need any of that being passed down. But if his partner said they were pregnant and wanted to keep the kid, he'd step up. Clumsily, perhaps, but he'd do his best
