Fic alert - When you need a break chapter 3
It’s as dark as Satan’s asshole when they pull into their driveway. The porch light draws a sort of silver crown above the door. It goes out behind them as they step inside. “Fucking long day,” Ian sighs. Mickey gives him a little nod, his head feeling as heavy as it does after a hangover. “Yeah. Finally over.” 🧣 They shed their boots and winter coats, which clump together into one puffy nylon shape when they hang them on the rack near the stairs. 🛋 Mickey drags himself to the couch and flops down. “I’m gonna get us some Sunny Delight,” Ian informs him. His husband fills two glasses in the kitchen while Mickey does absolutely nothing. He listens to the sound of juice against the ceramic, the fridge door closing. Ian sits down next to him, hands him one. Mickey drinks, sets it back on the coffee table. His head spins a little. He rests it against Ian’s shoulder. “You sure you feel okay?” his husband asks, voice low, a ridiculous level of worry in his words. He idly traces circles on Mickey’s back, kisses the line of his hair. “Stop with that fucking question. You’ve asked me, like, ten times already,” he grumbles lazily. Ian chuckles: “Because you look half dead,” he retorts. “Your legs were shaking the last two hours before we closed the shop.” “Fuck off,” Mickey breathes, amused. “You’ve got time to notice stuff like that, huh, with all the assholes coming and going?” “Yeah. You’re my husband.” // Post canon, A new house for Ian and Mickey, and many winter good memories.
