Every winter, masked dancers, dressed up in goat skins perform pagan rituals. The masks allow the dancer to become a supernatural being and to enter the spirit world where he chases away the evil spirits of the old year and brings blessings and health to the new year. it is an ages-old tradition which is still well preserved around Bulgaria. There are more than 10,000 kukeri organized in small groups around Bulgaria. © Ivo Danchev

Summer Elysium is an 18+ mutual killing game rp group set in purgatory on an island surrounded by endless ocean; with inspirations from the Soulsborne series, Fear and Hunger, Dungeons & Dragons, and more. This game is a sequel to Winter Masquerade, but the two do not take place in the same timeline or universe.

This game will feature fun dungeon-exploring mechanics, combat encounters with personal stats and skills, rooms with mysteries to uncover, murder cases to solve, a multi-day queue-based trial system, and more!

A cast of 18 adult characters, all deceased upon the start of the game with the promise of revival.

It's a dreary sort of evening, spitting rain and sleet, the fog heavy and damp.

Nevertheless, an intermittent procession of Changelings, dressed in their best (and in some cases, most outlandish) clothes, makes its way toward the North Woods.

Eerie blue dots of light illuminate a snow-covered path through the forest, and the sounds of soulful music and the clamor of a hundred different conversations gets louder and louder.

Until the path opens up into a large (impossibly large) clearing, lit by the same silvery blue light. The temperature rises - enough to remove ones outerwear - and attendants in featureless silver masks are on hand to whisk them away into some unseen coatroom.

The clearing is bordered by trees dripping in icicles and glitter, and the rain of the evening doesn't seem to hit the ground. They sky here is actually clear, constellations winking into view along with a sliver of a moon. Small wood fires at intervals around the edge of the clearing cast the same blue light that lit the path.

On the far side of the clearing, the band is playing something slow and sad, and couples revolve on a shimmering white dance floor that takes up the majority of the space. A collection of tables is clustered near the buffet so hungry party-goers have someplace to sit while they eat.

Shadows flicker across the scene - after all, we are in the middle of a forest, and the night is dark. There are plenty of hideaways for more intimate meetings, if one is so inclined.

The scene is one of dark and rustic beauty, and even with the band playing and the guests chatting, there's a certain quiet that Winter events are known for. Even the most joyful expressions are subdued tonight, as the masked guests arrive and experience the Winter Masquerade.

ooc; I’m so sorry I didn’t align the masks quite right, so I don’t want to show the eye area, because it’s not going to align right, and - And - I do need to edit Fiona’s outfit, I’ll edit that later, perhaps. I’m not that great at!!! Drawing more than one person!!!

For those who don’t know, I’m part of a Discord group with other people who do survivors, hunters, etc. The main focus for this one would obviously be the survivors, as that was the question, but I didn’t want to not include Leo.

A lot of times, the hunters will act differently during events in there than on the field, you know, ah - I’ll draw better stuff eventually!!!

Also he’s not quite comfortable comfortable, but they’ve talked to him, and he’s talked back with more than a yes or no, so that’s better than the usual unless we’re counting in this ask account, which it’s hard to just do things in yes or no with - I’m not great with words. I did forget the tear at his shoulder, it’s all good!!!
