Mary Kate: It'sssss that time again! Who's ready for our winter philanthropy event?
Mary Kate: Exec's been talking about it and we were thinking we'd do some kind of event at the roller rink/bowling alley but we want you guys's feedback on themes and stuff! We want to make as much money for the Auradonian Cancer Society as we can, so we kind of need to make people want to COME to this thing :-p
So far, the night had been easy. They’d sat through the wedding ceremony, and the introduction of the newlyweds and the toasts. But now came the real part of the date, the part where Emmett had to be charming and suave and like, potential-boyfriend-material. Or... maybe he didn’t. Winter was his best friend, not just some girl he was trying his best to win over. He should just like... not put too much pressure on stuff, and just have an awesome time, like they would have before he’d done the whole ‘confessing his feelings’ thing. Emmett rubbed the back of his neck sheepishly. “Have I done the part where I tell you you look amazing tonight? I feel like I’m supposed to do that first,” he joked, trying to take some of his nervous edge off. It was easy, though, to forget how nervous he was. All he had to do was look at her and see her smiling, and it was like he forgot what there was to stress about in the first place.

Emmett: Alright, Gamma Chis, your fearless leader is officially back in action. Winter’s plan had been to just stop by the frat house and say a quick goodbye to Emmett before heading home for the holiday, but faced with the prospect of spending two weeks without her, Emmett had kind of purposely derailed her plans. He’d poured her an eggnog and patted a spot on his bed for her to sit and tell him all about what her holidays had in store, and right as he was offering to pour her another one, his phone had started vibrating like crazy. A severe weather alert. Winter had groaned when he’d showed her the warnings to stay off the road as a snowstorm rolled in, and even jokingly accused Emmett of rigging the whole thing just to keep her from leaving. But a quick search revealed that it was a real threat, and all Emmett had had to do was pout and say he didn’t want his best friend frozen to death in a ditch somewhere for Christmas to get her to agree to stay and wait the thing out. “May as well have another one, you’re gonna be here a loooooong time,” he told her, scrolling idly through his weather report and showing her how much snow was expected to fall on the house by hour radar before turning to pour her another drink. “Cheers!” Emmett declared, raising his class to clink against Winter’s. “Bet you didn’t know that winning Gamma Chi sweetheart was actually our way of trapping you in this house forever...”
