I was scrolling through CRK stuff the other day and saw some posts about Devsis potentially bringing Gingerbrave and his friends back into story/gameplay relevence by Having Things Happen to Gingerbrave and I had a VISION that slammed into me. And I just HAD to draw something to share it with.
Most people were theorizing some kind of "ultimate cookie" thing happening to Gingerbrave (and a boatload of new trauma for our titular hero), but I had a different idea.
Dark Enchantress Cookie/White Lily Cookie seem to have an insight about Gingerbrave and his friends that no one else knows about. Like, there are some lines from them that seem to hint about them being aware that Gingerbrave had been Witch Baked instead being born by whatever method cookies use to procreate. And both (to me at least) seem to feel a certain level of kinship with him because of that.
What if, because of that unspoken/indirect admission results in DEC's magic/ritual doing something a little- weird? She seems like she's almost trying to... Make a witch? Make herself a witch? But her ritual takes a step to the left and, while looking like it did what she'd intended to herself, there's someone else who was Witch Baked relatively recently that gets tangled in a thread of the magic as well.
Which brought me to this. Behold!
Witch Cookie Gingerbrave
He is not on board with it but there's no turning back.
As you can imagine, if it's not revealed right away, there would be "kid trying to hide new powers from everyone" shenanigans. And failing badly at hiding it.
I suppose this could also be an au where Gingerbrave was always a witch cookie and had been hiding it bc he was scared of how everyone else would take it (and his own traumas).
However, I like the idea of this little brawler suddenly having magic but not having a clue how to use it. It would be fun.
I threw some maple leaves into the design to keep it from turning christmas from the candycane patterns without color. And I gave him the Brave Sweater you can pull from the MyCookie gatcha to add a little more to his design past the cape/hat appearing.
Might color this at some point but rn I just wanted to share the idea/art.
