The Christian Witches of Appalachia
This Christian witch with her daughter in the Blue Ridge Mountains. We’ve all gone on ghost tours in cities like Charleston or New Orleans (or at least thought about going). We’ve read about cemetery ghosts and haunted mansions—maybe even experienced some of our own brushes with the woo-woo. It’s the bump in the night, the sudden onset of goose pimples, the whisper that comes from nowhere and…

"You are a true daughter of the moon, though, and will serve us well."
from Shadow of Night by Deborah Harkness
Favourite Book characters - [4/5]: The Weyward Women in Weyward by Emilia Hart
“I had nature in my heart, she said. Like she did, and her mother before her. There was something about us---the Weyward women---that bonded us more tightly with the natural world. We can feel it, she said, the same way we feel rage, sorrow, or joy. The animals, the birds, the plants---they let us in, recognizing us as one of their own."
My new book is now for sale on Amazon in paperback and hardcover and ebook.
Hidden in upstate New York is a strange little town you can’t find with a GPS: Chapman’s Hollow. It’s home to some friendly locals, as you might expect; and lots of other strange things you couldn’t begin to imagine. It’s where the Peregrine family of witches have made their home for hundreds of years, tales and myths circling around them like a magickal storm. Althea is a young witch from this storied family, and the time has come for her to forge her own path through dark times. With the aid of her cat-shaped familiar, her family and her kindred, she will have to navigate confounding matters of the heart and confront the supernatural threats and mysteries that lurk beyond town in the ‘Hollow Woods. Those Woods hold great secrets: huge bears of an ancient race, the ghost of a well-known American hero (who also might just be her great-grandfather), a mysterious werewolf of unknown origin, and a cosmic force of evil from beyond the stars which threatens to destroy not only the ‘Hollow, but all that lies beyond.
My dear friend @danedear did the cover art.
I have at least two more books planned for this series, probably more. I hope to start work on Book 2 in 2025. If you buy the book and like it, please leave it a positive review! It will help other people who might enjoy it find it.

I found these today at a secondhand shop in town and I am SO EXCITED. They both had pretty good vibes in the store, and as I was trying (and failing) to get the perfect shot of them, Shadow interrupted and demanded my attention before curling up with them- I'm taking that as an excellent sign (and also a really good photo).
