Do you have any tips or good resources for using recipes as spells or cooking as spells?? I love the idea of baking my spells into bread but don’t always know where to start!
Oh friend....let me introduce you to the fun and fabulous world of KITCHEN WITCHERY. There's literally a whole subtype of witchcraft dedicated to the magical uses of food and cooking.
The most basic way to start with it is to regard the act of cooking as an act of magic. No special training or rituals required, you're just putting blessings or well-wishes or prayers or whatever you what to call it into the food as you prepare it. This is usually done through some tactile means, such as kneading dough, stirring a pot, seasoning a dish, or preparing food to be served. Basically, you prepare the food with the intention or magical purpose you wish it to contain.
I have a tag with kitchen witchery posts that you can browse for recipes and ideas, and I also recommend checking out the Conversational Witchcraft Podcast with Dawn the Kitchen Witch. As far as books go, I've gotten a lot of good use from The Kitchen Witch's Cookbook and Witch's Brew by Patricia Telesco; The Hearth Witch's Compendium and The Hearth Witch's Kitchen Herbal by Anna Franklin; and Celtic Folklore Cooking by Joanne Asala.
Good luck and happy cooking!
