I think teaching is very noble. If we don't take it upon ourselves to teach the next generation of wizards, there might not be one at all.

Besides, if we don't take on apprentices, they might end up in some elitist magic school where they randomly sort children as young as 10 or 11 into "good" and "evil" and then make them fight instead of actually teaching them anything actually useful.
