The last queen of the warriors. The first queen of the pacifists.

3 days of work. Finally doing full scene pieces after million sketches and flat drawings. I hope you like it.

My idea is that Jacaranda is the one to shred Anaconda's portrait, while Jacaranda's painting is just damaged from being so old (but the burned part is intentional damage). Grandeur took her successor Glory to show her the historical paintings that RainWings don't do with their rulers anymore.

Anaconda was a fierce queen. She has fought in many wars and was a fearsome leader of a warrior tribe. Her granddaughter, Jacaranda, decided to stop all wars and turn her tribe into a peaceful society, slowly leading them to transform into drastically different dragons.

I am myself very interested in the "fall" of the RainWings. But can you really call that the fall if the tribe has been stable and happy for generations? What will Glory bring to the tribe as someone who was isolated from her society her whole life and taught a completely different life philosophy?

RainWings? Assassins? Those two don't go together...

Sooooo, Queen Anaconda of the RainWings was challenged and beaten by Queen Jacaranda quite a long time ago. This led to changes — and lots of them.

According to A Guide to the Dragon World, RainWings used to be feared by all the tribes — complete with armies and assassins. Everyone knew about their venom. They went to wars with other tribes. (And, referencing to another article in the RainWing section, dragons were challenging for the throne extremely often, to the point that it endangered the tribe!)

Let's face it: During and before the reign of Anaconda, RainWings were fearsome warriors to the core; even more than NightWings had been at the time.

BUT... Queen Jacaranda changed this by shutting down assassin training, banning the weaponized use of venom, and disassembling entire armies. (She also started the sloth-pet trend, the sun time trend, and very possibly the vegetarianism trend.) Eventually, the tribe got to where it was now; every RainWing sleeping during sun time and being a vegetarian.

Why do you think she did this? Laziness, compassion, fear of other tribes, a strive for change, or another mysterious reason? And why do you think they stopped using scrolls?

I really hope that a future Legends book or Winglets book about Jacaranda will be published and will answer some of these questions.

Aren't ice bitches overpowered with the insta kill ice breath?

Also what's up with animas? No limitations, can make anyone else animas whenever, can enchant shit with no limitations, can un-animas other dragons, and go insane just from the power itself, and you can't loophole your way out of it

Also, why don't the moon motherfuckers have mind reading and shit anymore (except for that one)

Anyway, in order:

IceWings are very powerful enemies that most tribes will go out of their way to avoid fighting, for any number of reasons.

Animus magic is the most OP shit ever, and the only reason the world hasn't been destroyed by it is because most dragons that have it are either too polite or too stupid to use it to its fullest extent.

The NightWings gain their powers on the night that they are born, based on how many of the planet's three moons are shining in the night sky on the night that they hatch. The NightWings moved to a volcanic island thousands of years ago out of fear that Darkstalker may someday return, and all the volcanic ash covered up the night sky, preventing any more NightWings from gaining those powers. The reason that Moonwatcher has NightWing powers is because her mother took her egg into the rainforest for her to hatch safely, and she hatched on a night with two full moons.

The RainWings used to be just as dangerous and feared as any other tribe, but a very long time ago one of their queens decided to implement new rules in place because they kept killing their queens and nothing was getting done. These new rules made way for a much more laid-back and peaceful culture for them, leading to the sleepy, fruit-loving RainWings that we know today.
