Welcome to wogism
*
In Australia, the First Nations people in this country have their journeys and lived experiences.
While this blog is not First Nations related, it is something to be mindful of as I create on lands, waters, and air whose sovereignty was never ceded.

The title of this blog is wogism - this is a way of life and a culture that is specific to Southern European and Middle Eastern diaspora communities in Australia, this blog being from a lived experience of an Italian-Australian living in Melbourne.
This identity continues to be revised and has flourished since it was reclaimed.
The purpose of this blog is to not only allow myself to cultivate, which has an element of community-building, but to make sense of the world I live in and all of its associated experiences.
Some posts may contain language other than English.
Please feel welcome to engage with this blog by leaving comments and messages, and I will endeavour to respond to them.

Every time I arrive at the beach house I devolve into the Aussie wog accent because the wog vibes are so strong. . . . . . . #woglife #holiday #wog #mine #face #photo (at Capel Sound) https://www.instagram.com/p/CR8rDhVFw9Pac3EV7TKm7e6Qvt8cRe2CUjmHhw0/?utm_medium=tumblr
Always striving to become more and more like a old Italian couple who migrated in the 50s and hasn’t updated any furniture since 1978. Now, does anyone know where I can get a painting of fruit or a giant set of rosary beads? Thanks. . . . . . . . . . . #vintage #italian #nonna #wog #woglife #vintagefurniture #mine #photo https://www.instagram.com/p/CQC-uUJlnnwph8VuMwfIF6MWdj5_Hdrk8zvQsU0/?utm_medium=tumblr

G is for Gnocchi! These little puffs of heaven are pasta-esque, and served with a lot of the same sauces, but are actually made out of potato. 🥔 Looking for some good gnocchi? Try @good.gnocchi - the name is a bit misleading as they are purveyors of ridiculously good gnocchi, but perhaps that store name was too long to fit on the sign. ... ... ... ... #wogfood #woglife #gnocchi #goodgnocchi #acrylicpainting #painting #art #artistsoninstagram #dailyart #pasta #potato https://www.instagram.com/p/CARhjZkHkXv/?igshid=szvj5fpcid5z
After a brief hiatus (mostly due to laziness tbh) we are back in A-Z of wog food train! 🍝 F is for Fritole, a deep fried doughnut typically made with raisins, liqueur and some type of peel. 🍩 It’s a dish from the Veneto region that @nickpivagiblett, @cpivagib and @angelinapiva excel at. (Our family’s version has an anchovy instead of fruit. Trust me, it’s amazing 😉🐟) ... ... ... ... #wogfood #woglife #italianfood #frittole #painting #acrylicpainting #art #artistsoninstagram #artist #italian https://www.instagram.com/p/CAFLPw5nvlR/?igshid=1mtznw02115qr
E is for Eliche! Did you know there are many different types of spiral pasta? Rotini is loose spirals, eliche are loose spirals, and fusilli is essentially the love child between the two. 🍝 ... ... ... #wogfood #woglife #acrylicpaintint #art #pasta #artistoninstagram #eliche #fusilli #art #italianfood #italian https://www.instagram.com/p/B7wqUE-ng61/?igshid=1qauutcwp032x
