has anyone ever considered how crazy the english language is?

there is not a single “native” english speaker in the world; you are either not native or it’s not your native language. it’s not even native to England, it comes from the Roman and Norman and Germanic conquests of the Britons. but it’s the “common” tongue of the international system because of British and then American imperialism.

a language built from repeated conquests of a native people. whose speakers turned around and sought to conquer as much of the world as they could, stealing bits of language from the peoples it conquered.

and of course all this from me, someone who has known the taste of the english language his whole life. who has never had to try to translate words or phrases that simply do not have equivalents for the sake of being understood. and even still, my people hail from Sicilia, if i technically had to pick a native tongue it would be Italian. but Italian is foreign to me even as i’m trying to learn the language of my ancestors.

i guess all this to say, i won’t ever purposefully make someone feel bad for not speaking “good” english, particularly if it’s not their native language. it’s not really mine either.

I am in no way a professional, however I have done years of research on DID with different sources ranging from online websites to physical books and talking to systems.

Diagnosed systems are allowed to correct me or disagree.

What happened in the CRK storyline? — After absorbing the Ultimate Cookie and the SoulJams of the other Beasts, we see a scene where Shadow Milk Cookie “switches” between mindsets of said Beasts and presumably Ultimate Cookie.

Which characteristics could apply to DID? — The before-mentioned switches could be something that made people think that this may be DID, especially the part where SMC argues with the other ‘personality.’ Whether the souls of the beasts still live on inside Shadow Milk’s mind or if part of their energies simply have an impact on his mentality is yet unclear.

Why is it not DID? — Devsis absolutely did not have the intention of writing a character with such a misunderstood disorder. Aside from this obvious fact;

1) the switches occur very quickly, something that is only a thing in fictional media written by singlets that do not comprehend that switches involve disassociation. While this was a stress situation for Shadow Milk Cookie that might have lead to switches, this is very extreme and fast. It is a possibility that they may be talking in their minds, which is possible in co-fronting, however I am uncertain about that actually happening, as he is speaking out loud.

2) DID does not get developed in such a way. While it may be a fun headcanon to you, labeling him as a system may make people forget about the roots of the true development of DID: It gets formed during childhood if the person grows up in a traumatic environment where they can only cope by disassociating during stress, usually due to abuse. Labeling SMC’s identity crisis as DID disregards the traumatic experiences of real systems—in my opinion. Systems are allowed to disagree.

Why is this assumption harmful? — This assumption only fuels the bad reputation that DID and OSDD already have. That they are crazy!!! And that, oh, all alters are evil personalities!!! “Oh get out of my head get out of my head!!!” type shit.

I apologize if I’m being too woke, but fuck, let’s not make DID another fandom trope the same way that people are labeling Yanderes as characters with BPD.

My 'too woke' take is that men scaring women they know late at night when they think they're alone is not funny. I can appreciate a prank as much as the next person but walking alone at night as a woman can be genuinely terrifying. I also understand these men don't have bad intentions and just use the benefits of the dark to scare them, but I have to read about women getting killed, raped, and harassed constantly, so if you wanna scare me or other women do it in safe environments please.

This is also not necessarily hatred towards the men, just criticism behaviour that can be harmful to women.

my woke take right now is that so many (marginalized) people when it comes to revolting against the government can (and should!!) take a lot of notes from the civil rights movement and black activists from that time because theres so many things about that time of revolution for a better life that is so applicable now and NEEDS to be applicable but yall just dont. this is why single day group/communal boycotts dont work. this is why one day/weekend protests dont work. this is why we are still suffering
