My mind is all over the place at the moment, but I started the Professional Sports AU yesterday, courtesy of my Wolfstar Bingo card:
“And that’s the final out of the game to cap off this season of upheaval for the Marauders. With Remus Lupin out due to injury, they will need some new blood in the off season. Manager Marlene Mckinnon will be looking to prove herself and possibly add some big names to the roster. That’s all for now, I’m Lee Jordan and you’re watching SportsCenter on ESPN.”
Remus started awake. He looked around at the nondescript hotel room he was staying in as he tried to breathe deeply and slowly as the adrenaline ebbed from his system. He shook his right arm out. After the injury last season, and the subsequent physical therapy, his pitching arm felt more fit than ever. He’d done well when it was just pitchers and catchers, but the rest of the team was reporting for spring training today and he was more nervous than he’d been in a long time.
If one thing made sense in his life, it was always baseball. Baseball was predictable, with set rules and outcomes. Of course, with more training or with different team members, weather, or hell, even luck, the outcome could change but the rules never changed. His life would change, but the rules of baseball never did.

There are worse ways to spend a rainy afternoon. That’s what Remus thought when he was curled up in an armchair in the Gryffindor common room. The fireplace was crackling pleasantly in front of him and the heat made his cheeks flush red. It had been raining all day, and although he never really cared much for the cold November weather, the sound of raindrops pounding against the windows made for a cosy atmosphere.
He had been reading for most of the day, enjoying the nice and quiet of the empty common room while letting his mind drift off into fictional realms. An endless stream of hot tea and chocolate frogs were at his disposal and he had buried himself in his comfiest jumper.
But like all good things in life, it couldn’t last forever, and now his peace and quiet was interrupted by voices drifting in from the corridor. Remus tried to ignore them but they grew louder as their—presumably affronted, by the sound of it—human counterparts approached the common room, seemingly engrossed in a heated discussion. A quick glance at his watch told him that Quidditch practice was over, and, regrettably, his chance to finish his book in peace as well. He sighed heavily as he resigned himself to his fate, closed the book and prepared himself for the storm that was his friends.
Sure enough, the portrait hole swung open to reveal the drenched and muddy figures of James and Sirius. “We have been at it for four hours!” Sirius exclaimed. He had a look of annoyance on his face and was scowling at James, dragging his broom along with him. James however didn’t seem fazed by this as he was grinning excitedly.
“I know!” he beamed, bouncing on the balls of his feet. “Who would have thought we could take Ravenclaw’s time slot on the pitch as well?”
“There was a reason why they didn’t show!” Sirius was now looking at James as if he had completely lost his mind. “I have been soaked through since the minute we started and there is mud in places I can’t even reach.”
Remus slouched a little in his armchair. He really didn’t want to get caught up in their Quidditch altercations. And maybe, a little voice in the back of his head said, maybe if he kept quiet, they would continue this in the dorm room, which would leave him with just enough time to read that last chapter.
“Don’t be so dramatic,” James countered, “A little rain doesn’t hurt. Besides, we needed the practice. Don’t you want to beat Slytherin in the next match?”
Sirius groaned. “You know I do.”
“Then stop whinging.”
“I’m not whi—” but his protest died down as he caught sight of Remus sitting by the fireplace. “Moony!” he whined, “Safe me from this Quidditch tyrant!”
Remus put the last hopes he harboured about finishing his book aside as Sirius dropped his broom unceremoniously to the floor and made his way across the common room.
“I’m staying out of this”, Remus said with a pointed look, “I told you physical exercise was a bad idea. You brought this on yourself.”
“Mooony,” Sirius sighed, “You’re supposed to choose my side.” He plunked himself in Remus’ lap with another dramatic sigh.
“Oi!” Remus yelped, “You’re ruining my jumper!” He tried to shove him away but Sirius put his arms around his neck and wouldn’t budge.
“Come shower with me?” Sirius asked with a suggestive wiggle of his eyebrows. He leaned in and rubbed his muddy cheek against Remus’, smearing dirt on his face. “You could use one, you know.”
“Not in the dorm!” James protested. “You take your kaboinking somewhere else, poor Wormy is still recovering from the last time he walked in on you two horndogs.”
Remus looked up at James in horror, ceasing his attempts of removing the soaked lump of boyfriend from his lap, but Sirius barked a laugh.
“He told you that?” he asked in mirth. “Trust Peter to not keep a secret.”
“Can we please not talk about that?” Remus groaned. It had only happened once, really. It had been an unfortunate combination of losing track of time and forgetting to close the curtains of their four-poster bed. While it had taken Remus days to finally look Peter straight in the eye again, Sirius had merely found the whole incident hilarious.
“You’re right,” Sirius grinned, nudging him with his shoulder. “Let’s put that prefect badge of yours to good use.”
Summary: Just a little non-magic AU at Jily's wedding. Featuring Man of Honor Moony and the heir to the Noble and Most Obnoxious House of Black. Lily obviously deserved a glam 70s themed wedding.

The Wolfstar bingo is a low-stakes, fun yearly event meant to encourage new fanfiction, art, or other means of creative expression in the Wolfstar fandom!
In the next couple of days, an announcement will be sent out with the Google form link so you all can submit any prompts you're hoping to see this year. Please try to keep your suggestions short (1 to 7 words). Anyone interested in creating this year's banner to be used for the event on the bingo card, bingo sign-up Google form, or Ao3 collection icon is welcome to do so. There will be an option on the prompt google form where you can submit your entry. Measurements for our banner art-making friends to know:
