happy pride to them and only them
Me @ people who ship Cassie and Cissie because of the ten minutes where they interacted during Bendis’ 2019 run: Odd choice, but okay. You do you.
Me @ people who ship Cassie and Cissie because they read through the entirety of the 90’s Young Justice run and decided that their friendship was close enough to where romance was a possibility, if not an inevitability: God tier. Respectable. I can vibe with that.
Concept: Donna Troy x Roy Harper Step family.
Both Donna and Roy have always been sweet on each other since they were kids, but their lives took divergent paths. Despite this, they do get together later in life.
When they do, they both have kids from a previous relationship. Donna has a son, Robert. Robby’s father, Terry was Donna’s fiance for a while, but he died in a car crash.
Roy has a daughter, Lian. Her mother, Jade, is still alive, but is serving out a sentence in Belle Reve.
Donna and Roy end up reigniting their romance and create a step family. Roy teaches Robby the skills and traditions he learned in the Navajo Reservation he grew up on. Donna teaches Lian the ways of the Amazons. Lian and Robby and up developing a brother sister relationship.
(Don’t worry about Jade though, she’s happy Roy found someone he can rely on. And she’s glad the woman raising her daughter is a badass. Even so, Lian still visits Jade in prison every couple months.)
Bruh, it’s 1am, I have to be up in 5 hours and yet it just fucking hit me that Tilly/Alice is being shown as suffering with mental health issues and it’s overwhelmed me.
My fucking love is just boiling over the sides of the pot and I suddenly have a mighty need for an AU.
Give me Officer Jones, the dedicated cop who loves to help people and loves his job. The only thing he loves more is his daughter, Alice.
It’s hard being a single parent but even harder when his child struggles with her mental health condition. But they’re a solid team those two. No matter what, they’ve always got each other.
When school is too much for her at times and she can’t face going, Jones lets her ride around in the patrol car with him, letting her read the speedometer and switch on the lights. When people aren’t as understanding, he’s there to put them in their place. Even when she’s having a bad episode and not even his help can calm her, he’s there when it passes, never giving up on her.
Alice is special. She’s been told it since she was a baby and she loves everything all teenagers do. There are times when her and her dad can fight like any other family, but she knows deep down he’s her whole world. It’s always been the two of them.
So naturally, when he finds out she’s fallen for someone, he panics like crazy. He’d be the first to admit that he’s rather over protective of his daughter, he’s terrified of someone taking advantage. He’s scared of what having her heart broken would do to her. So when she mentions the girl she’s into, he has to meet her.
It doesn’t take a genius to see that Robin is the real deal. She’s kind, understanding, patient... she’s also cheeky and gives both himself and Alice a good dose of banter when the occasion rises. She sees Alice for who she is. He couldn’t wish for anyone better- he’s not a guy that believes in stars and fate but he’d say those two were made for each other.
The only problem now is the realisation that his girl is all grown up. She’s become and adult... and after spending a lifetime with just the two of them, he has to let her go.
While Alice finds a new adventure full of love and hope, Jones tries to find his purpose.
What does he do when he’s no longer needed? Where does he go from here?
So our two newest adorable love birds need a ship name! Click the link and Vote&RT! Rose picked RabbitBow!
The thing I love about Alice and Robin is that we started in the middle of their story, and that makes it so much richer to me.
It's like, there's so much backstory to think about that necessarily happened — they had their meet cute, they had relationship development, they they told their parents and both parents know that it's serious, to the point that in each case, both Killian and Zelena know that their daughter is thinking of the other first in a crisis. And then that kiss! Just full of emotion and joy and desperate love and !!!!!
I've made mention of this before, but I think OUAT relationships are most successful when we're introduced in the middle of the story. You're brought into a relationship that has history, nuance, and it's own special tics (like I already believe that Alice has a habit of kissing and nuzzling Robin's hand).
This is part of the reason why I ship Millian so hard. All their interactions speak to a backstory of deep relationship, which made the meet cute so much more meaningful when we actually got to see it. It's why I never felt the Zades and Ruby Slippers TLKs, and why Swanfire never felt developed or rich to me — everything about the relationship - the meeting, development and conclusion of sorts - was presented in one episode, onscreen, and it felt like it had no depth of familiarity and history and love.
Anyway I love Wonder Arrow a lot, and I think joining the middle of their story is a big reason why I'm already really emotionally invested in them, and it makes me really anticipate seeing flashbacks to their beginning and the future of their story.
cissie should replace tim in young justice so it can be queer justice. the power of yuri and yoai compels you !!!!!
