The Home -- A SVT D&D One Shot

Good evening, all. 

I had the pleasure of doing a freestyle D&D one shot for some lovely Seventeen lovers, @wonwoozilla​ and @joppinstar​. This was my way of showing my appreciation for letting me and my best friend stay with them for a few days, so I am very glad that it turned out very well. I didn’t include ALL of the details of this one shot because heheheh you just HAD to be there ;) 

The story is adapted from a very fun semi-cooperative board game called Betrayal at the House on the Hill, in which everyone is thrown into the large grand entrance way with many doors as access points for them to enter. Lolex North ( @wonwoozilla​), Willow ( @joppinstar​), and Jibish (Arneil, my friend) were all to explore the Home. 

They were to enter each new room without any kind of information about the rooms. This was the first time Lolex and Willow have ever played D&D, so learning how to gather information in this situation was very good for beginners! With the opening of a door, there came the introduction of monsters to fight and possibly even a SVT member to save! 

I introduced easy monsters (Challenge rating 1 for three people to fight) for them to fight at first since this would be their first fight ever. 

With perception checks and blind luck at moments, they found SVT members in dire straits! 

This is not Joshua from SVT. This is Genoshua Tu, a necromancer who can use his shadow to assist in fights and is slightly a weenie. I have to really shoutout my love, @whatxiumin​ for doing a lot of the heavy lifting when it came to character creation for the SVT members. She did an amazing job.

No no no, this is not Jeonghan. This is Hanyon Fen, a Rogue with a affinity for tactics and intrigue. Every SVT member had their own personalities and own ideas in their head with how to go about beating the house and how to get out. 

This lad here? This crybaby here? This is definitely not confident boy Woozi (big bias here). This is the sadboi 10 year old, Muun Jihoo. He was carried like a little backpack boy by Lolex in the fight against the final boss, really putting out crucial Songs of Rest and Bardic Inspiration here and there, as he was fully sobbing. 

In my eyes, there is no good story without a good villain. Souls feed his being and the Home. Fear and sadness are his cravings. This is not Vernon; this is Vridigon, the Homebody. The last moments of the campaign came down to Vridigon having 2hp left and Willow taken down to 0hp. The demon lord took Willow’s body hostage and gave the party an ultimatum : “you let me go or I kill the girl”. The Rogue extraordinaire, Jibish, had a roll off to see who would be able to act first, AND WON. He stabbed Vridigon in the back to finish him off, and Willow rolled A NAT 20 on her first death saving throw to pop back up alive. What an ending. The dice always tell the right story. Blessed be to Dice Christ.  

Sadly enough, I could not reach all of the SVT members because I value narrative continuity too much, and I could not insert them into the story effectively. The party did finish Vridigon off; however, the party did end on a cliffhanger within one. more. Home.

I am supposed to be working on my romantic/angsty JunHan fic rn so could I get uhhhh perhaps Jeonghan and Jun trying to take a selfie? With Jun much happier about it than Jeonghan? (Long-haired Jeonghan please!)

oh man i mean vernon looking me dead in the face was definitely my favorite thing i nearly died BUT watching svt get surprised by how well we all knew smile flower was so sooooo beautiful and it made me sooo proud! OH and seungkwan yelling at everyone about solo concerts 😂😂😂 what about you?!
