Future Predictions with Tom

Been wanting to write another imagine for a while This one is about you and Tom going to a psychic for a future reading. Apologies if it’s not accurate but bear with me… - - You walked down the quiet sidewalk swinging your joint hands and giggling. It was a cold, frosty evening and you both were wrapped up in warm woolly scarves and hats. “Do you think they’ll guess I’m Spiderman?” Tom, your adorable boyfriend, asked innocently. “Well, they don’t guess, they predict. And they will probably only tell you stuff about your future,” you replied cockily, smirking. “Okay…” Tom grinned, “Do you think they will predict me to be Spider-Man in future?” You laughed and nudged him with your shoulder. “You know we are going to a psychic, right? Do you really think they’ll tell you stuff about Spider-Man?” “Of course they will, Spider-man is the most important guy out there,” he said shoving you playfully then whispering, “Cause he’s me and I’m cool ya know.”

You turned a corner and arrived at the Merchant City stalls. Behind all the fairy lights you could see the sandwich board reading “Magic Mima: palm readings/horoscopes/future predictions” Tom squeezed you hand and pulled you forward as he started running towards the far-away stall. You were both panting and laughing when you got there. There was a tiny silver bell on a shelf that you rang for attention. It’s sound hummed in the cold air. Tom squeezed your hand. A woman wearing an exotic turban, colourful beads and a robe walked through the curtains. “Welcome!” she greeted, “I’m Mima. How can I help you today? Wait, don’t answer that-” she closed her eyes and tensed her face. You and Tom gave each other a look. Mima opened her eyes and smiled “- You two are here for a prediction aren’t you?” You were pleasantly surprised. Tom’s whole face lit up and he almost squealed with excitement, “Yes! Yes we are! That’s amazing!” Mima modestly shook her head and beckoned you through the curtains into the back. It was very dark and took a minute for your eyes to adjust. Tom pulled your arm down and you both sat on fluffy cushions in front of a crystal ball. You looked around; taking in the beautiful robes draped around the inside and the candles lit behind Mima.

“So,” Mima began, “What kind of future prediction are you two looking for? Romance? Success? Excitement?” “Erm…well could I get a success one about my job if that’s possible?” You asked. There was a promotion available to become assistant film director you would do anything for. “Certainly!” Mima exclaimed. “I have a feeling you will have good fortune…” She closed her eyes and started humming and muttering words while waving her hands around the crystal ball. Tom took both your hands and rubbed them grinning - “For good luck,” he whispered. You looked back at Mima as she had went quiet. Opening her eyes she said, “The spirits have told me that an opportunity will arise for you. You will gladly take it. However, it may not be easy. You will need to be prepared for judgement and hard work. Your determination will take you to places of success.” Your mind was whizzing with what she could be meaning as Mima turned to Tom for his prediction. “Now, sir, what would you like to know?” “Excitement please, I’m an actor so it’d be good to know if there’s any exciting roles ahead.” “Of course,” she said then closed her eyes and muttered again. You took Tom’s hands and rubbed them, as he did, “For good luck,” you smiled up at him. He looked nervous. You could tell just by looking at him that he was thinking about his Spider-Man role as he was fidgeting like a child. “You will be pleased to know your most recent role will set you up for years of excitement. You will become very well known and learn much more about the entertainment industry. With great excitement comes great work so be willing to compromise for the best outcomes.” Tom sat with his mouth open, gobsmacked, trying to take it all in. “Is that all for you dears today?” Mima asked smiling sweetly at you both. You pulled Tom up, waking him from his trance. “Yes, that was wonderful, thank you very much!” You elbowed Tom. “Ow, yes! Yes, thanks you so much! I’m really looking forward to my future now aha” “You should be although saving the world sounds exhausting,” she winked. You pulled Tom out of the tent-like stall while he was repeatedly switching from staring at you and Mima, stuttering due to speechlessness. Eventually he got out the words - “She new I was Spiderman…she knew I was Spiderman!” You laughed and pulled his scarf down so his head was level to yours. “You’re my Spiderman,” you said then kissed him softly.
