Minecraft is a game that you can just get lost in, let me explain. Minecraft, as a game is full of feedback loops, say you’re trying to build a wall, nothing fancy, just a cobblestone wall around your base, first, you need to go mining for the cobble but when you start mining you realize your pick is about to break, so you go back to the surface and shuffle through your chest until you find 3 iron ingots, you find the iron and make a new pickaxe, so finally, you can start minin- not so fast, you don’t have any food, so again, you go back to the surface and get some wheat to make some bread, but before you make the bread, you have to replant the seeds, now, finally, you have everything, you start mining, it’s going smooth then your inventory is full, so you go back to the surface after your inventory fills up, “surely this full inventory will be enough” you think to yourself, it is(if your base is relatively small). Now, you’ve got the cobble walls then you decide you want to spruce it up a bit, so you do all of what I previously mentioned, all over again, you decide you want to make the walls stone brick walls instead of cobble walls, so you go to you stonecutte- you don’t have a stonecutter, so you look up the recipe for a stonecutter, and you need to get smooth stone, so you smelt the stone and- Oh no! Your furnace(s) are low on coal, one mining trip later, you have the coal, now to smelt the stone, ok, done! Now you can craft a stonecutter, but you don’t have any more iron, you spent it on the pickaxe, so after even more mining, you can finally craft the almighty cutter of stone, you craft the stonecutter and now, you can finally make your stone brick wall, you get to replacing your old cobble wall and “Tunk!”, Your pickaxe breaks so you smelt the rest of the iron you got from an earlier mining trip, make a new pick, and continue, and now, after too goddamn long, a slightly better looking wall. This has been a very long tangent about Minecraft thank you, and goodnight.
