You’re telling me this ISN’T Dob the half orc bard?
A guy comes into the store tonight, and asks if we have Blood Meridian by Cormac McCarthy. Not sure, I show him where it would be if we did, then I go to look up info on the movie because I know we've had an uptick in ppl looking for this book due to that.
I start reading aloud about how Ridley Scott has been trying to make the movie adaptation for years, but no studios want to do it because he insists on keeping the gratuitous violence from the book.
The shopper eagerly comes towards me, going, "Omg is Ripley Scott making the movie??"
Alas, no, it is some other guy. I tell him the name and he BURSTS out with, "Ah MAN NOT HIM! HE MADE "THE ROAD" INTO A MOVIE AND IT SUUUUUCKED!" Massive disappointment. I'm sorry, man.
Something I just know would happen, once RK900/Nines joins the dpd (part 2).
Gavin: *Taling to Connor* you know, when i first met Nines, I thought he was a complete asshole.
Connor: And, now?
Gavin: Now I know that I was right.
Nines: *Hiding Gavin's paperclips and pens, stealing his jacket and putting it in a random place, remotely shutting of the coffee machine whenever Gavin trys to use it, generaly being a annoying little shit* I have no idea how you came to that conclusion.
Working at a place where management clearly hates everyone below them is so bizarre it’s almost comical
They say our health & comfort are important but then they take away the only place we can sit (a bench) (we’re the only department in the hospital without a break room)
They say patients should be our utmost concern but then cut 3 positions, reduce us to a skeleton crew, and get angry when trays get delivered late because we can’t keep up with the breakfast/lunch/dinner rush
They say we shouldn’t come into work unless we feel 100% but then penalize us if we have more than 10 days of unscheduled cto (combined time off, our sick days & paid time off are combined into one) in a year, meaning we have to come in sick & injured or face punishment
This shit’s exhausting man
The other day my coworker was standing with his hand on his hips and I immediately asked if he was an X-Files fan. He is and immediately knew he was standing there just like Mulder when I asked that question. It was a funny moment that I will appreciate for a long time.
@comicgeekscomicgeek Since we’ve been talking about Jedi Master Mundi, thought I’d share part of my desk setup at work!
(The cellist is a stand-in for James Bond. Sure, LEGO has James Bond figures, but one of my favorite Bond movies is The Living Daylights, wherein Bond saves a woman by sledding across a national border in her cello case; not wanting a toy gun on my desk at work, I figured reminding myself of that ridiculous action set piece would be great for a mini-break, reset-your-attitude kind of device, and sure enough it usually brings a smile to my face.)

Work is trying very hard to explore ways of making Agile even worse and unfortunately they're currently succeeding.
