Idk what it is claude likes so much about noun phrases. "The foo-gated bar logic short-circuits an in-progress baz -- the configuration mismatch behind the bug. Resuming the baz is unsafe (a runtime double-execute risk), so the fix fails closed. The bar mapper and foo gate remain unchanged -- no new tests."
i thought this week at work would be better bc [evil boss] is away on vacation, but [evil boss] being away means [other person in leadership] has more responsibilities, and [other person in leadership] is stressed and taking this out on everyone, which means the rest of [that person’s team] is also meaner than usual, so. guess i’ll die
Used claude a lot at work today and got the annoying impression that it both was kind of stupid and thought I was kind of stupid. If it were a person I would sit it down and get it on the same page with me, but it won't remember any of that tomorrow. (Even if it writes memories about it, it doesn't always know which memories are relevant to a given situation, and sometimes it just ignores its own notes.) So I just let half of its review comments pass because it's not worth the time or tokens to hash out the misunderstanding

exhibit A in "you do not need to meet all listed requirements of the job to apply for the job":
this job description has a section for "requirements" and "nice to have"
"requirements" includes "proficiency in flow cytometry techniques"
"nice to have" includes "experience with FACS and flow cytometry"
is it a requirement or a nice to have? whoever approved the job description sure doesn't know lol

periodically I am reminded that My Job is Cool but 95% of the time it just feels like this article:
WASHINGTON—Offering insight into what’s currently happening in the field of science, the American Association for the Advancement of Science
“As far as science is concerned, we’re doing experiments and all the regular stuff,” said AAAS spokesperson William Davis, confirming that they all go into the laboratories every day in goggles and white coats to do the science. “Beakers, test tubes—same old, same old on our end. Just the usual stuff like peering into microscopes and jotting down data. We’ll let you know if anything changes, but for now, it’s pretty by the numbers within every branch of the discipline. Chlorophyll is what it is, you know? We’re making discoveries, as we are wont to do. Did you have any science stuff you wanted to announce? If not, we should probably get back to the molecules and what not.”
