How to Plan a Company Event That Isn’t Boring

Work events can often be synonymous with words like uneventful, tiresome, and even boring. But they don’t have to be. In fact, company events have the potential to be just as fun as your best friend’s birthday party or a family affair you’ve been looking forward to. With the right venue and the right equipment, it’s entirely possible to create an event for your company that people will love and talk about for years to come!

Choose a Unique Venue

Forget the conference room in your office or that restaurant you take all your clients to for lunch. Instead, try to think out of the box and pick a venue that is new and unique. You may want to host the event at a swanky hotel, making a weekend out of it and allowing out-of-town clients to stay over and attend easily. Or you may want to go further than that, picking a venue that has a gorgeous backdrop, a prime location or even a pool—because, why not?

 Put an Emphasis on Food

Company parties are about having fun and networking, but if the food isn’t good, no one will want to stay very long. Whether the event is just cocktails and light bites or a full sit down dinner, be sure you put an emphasis on the food. Take a few of your trusted employees to a taste testing to get them excited for the day and get their opinion on the food. The same is true for the bar—try to include a signature cocktail or two to spice up the drink offerings.

With a production or event specialist by your side, you’ll be able to plan the ultimate company event without taking away from your actual job. Even if this isn’t the dancing party, having the right music playing in the background is always essential for setting the mood. Make sure you know what options your venue has for playing music, and whether you need to bring your own or if they provide the music for you. If you are planning a party with a dance floor, and you aren’t hiring a DJ or band, be sure the space has the appropriate acoustics.
