I don’t normally do a 6 mile treadmill run on a Saturday...but when I do it’s because I’m preparing for my new marathon training plan that has me running an easy 6 every. single. Saturday until forever. Ok, maybe not forever, but at least until the #chimarathon hits in October. My new plan has me running both Saturday (easy 6) and Sunday (long run), which is something I haven’t done in many years during training....so I thought I’d “practice” these double weekend runs before official training begins on 6/21. I did 4 mile repeats at 7:53 on the treadmill this morning and did not die TA-DA ✨👊 Alright I know I just ran a 4 mile tempo outside with splits at that pace but for some reason doing that pace on a treadmill scares me. Maybe because I can see it on the screen the whole time taunting me, telling me I can’t do it (but then I go and do it lol). That pace certainly wasn’t easy, and for once my stats reflect how hard I was working....but the whole time I was busting out those repeats I kept reminding myself that this is how sub-4 marathons are made.
