Concerning the September 2020 update for KHUX (Spoilers ahead)
I still don't believe that Ava is Darkness - rather it had taken Ava's form. Recall that Ava was facing Luxu just prior to when Darkness used Ventus to kill Strelitzia - apart from it being completely out of character for Ava, idk that she'd be have the time to possess Ventus and bring him to kill Strelitzia; but also just the story suggests that Darkness is a being the Master of Masters has been fighting for a long time; throughout all crossings of worldlines that reset the world. I think it's more a question of what's in the box, or rather, who. I think it's another apprentice, one to represent Superbia, or pride.
It would make sense if another apprentice or even comrade to MoM had been the one carry Darkness from the old world to the new one. The only other option would be MoM, and he set up the plan to eradicate Darkness in the distant future, which is why he recruited Xehanort to his cause, leading to the events with Sora + co - it was all to destroy Darkness, who must be none other than Vanitas, or the Darkness carried over by Ventus to the future. I think Darkness is a projection of this apprentice/comrade was probably named Vanitas due to that being Latin for Vanity, aka Pride/Sulerbia.
By ensuring that Sora destroys Vanitas/Darkness, the apprentice/comrade should in theory now be purified. #crackpottheory
Finally gotten around to finishing this and I just want to rewatch the original now #steinsgate #steinsgate0 #timetravel #worldlines #scifi #sliceoflife #convergence #elpsycongroo #okabe #mayuri #tootooroo #anime #videogame #lightnovel #japan #gamer #nerd #geek #otaku #collector #fanboy #khfan https://www.instagram.com/p/ByYJI9PFsvH/?igshid=1qirkng0rtw7d
Here's a wild theory:
Based on the events of Kingdom Hearts X and the series up until now, Sora and company was never in the original worldline.
Here's the evidence that I believe supports this idea (feel free to support or add contrary evidence)
The gazing eye on No Name is the Master of Masters eye. Therefore, whatever no name has seen is what happened after the first Keyblade War.
The Book of Prophecies can only exist if Luxu succeeded in passing down No Name.
In Kingdom Hearts X, the quests that the Player and the other keyblade wielder go on are data projections from the Book of Prophecies. These data projections include Mickey, Donald, and Goofy along with various Disney worlds that we've visited over the course of these games.
The thing is, these worlds that we visit as the player are experiencing another story. One that is not affected by Sora and his compatriots.
Example 1: Agrabah (KH1 and KH2)
Example 2: Castle of Dreams (BBS)
When we experience these worlds in real time, we play them as Sora and Co. When we experience them in KHX, they are proceeding usually as the movies do.
My theory is that at some point, Luxu jumped into another worldline. One where the Gazing Eye recorded these stories into the book.
