I can't help but think of that trope where Madeleine had ladies trying to get with him in M-sur-M and Javert's like "ugh" about it... Meanwhile 2000 fanfic Javert would be the one matchmaking..... I'll be blunt: don't play Red Embrace Hollywood if you're looking for a game where you get to feel like you have a lot of control over characters' fates and the fate of the world your character is in lol

I mean this is true but like...I think people also wildly blow how bad the endings are out of proportion. Like esp when the game first released people were RABID that there wasn’t a “and everyone was okay in the end” ending but it isn’t like they’re gratuitously upsetting (except for the special endings which like, are on purpose and aren’t SENSELESSLY upsetting they’re just “hey you’ve unlocked THE WORST POSSIBLE THING except for markus where you unlocked the ???est possible thing”).

I guess that’s just my point the endings are a bummer but it’s not like it’s shock value or tragedy porn or anything it just doesn’t end happy and the fandom isn’t like huge so you can’t drown out the sorrow in fan creations. But people like, definitely blasted it way out of proportion like someone on the forum was like “this made my depression worse” like bud that is NOT on the game developer for making the story they wanted to tell.

Also like this isn’t @ u or anything, this is mostly @ me because the past like five times I’ve recced it I’ve added the bad ending disclaimer but like I liked the game a lot obviously !!
