From birth the young wolf was separated from his pack, thanks to a prophecy that followed them from hundred of years before. Three young siblings with potential. One remained in the pack, to be raised among their people. The second was left for dead, a sacrifice the pack deemed as necessary for their survival. The third, Grayson, was left on a winter night in front of the door of a nearby orphanage for the humans to take in. He grew up in this orphanage, growing close relationships with the staff that roamed the halls, and dreaming of one day having a family to call his own.
For a couple of years, everything was fine for Grayson. In hindsight, had he known of his true origins, the signs should’ve been evident the closer it came to his fourteenth birthday. His body was developing quicker than he could handle, strength getting stronger than he knew possible, and everything seemed to be turning inside out for him. He turned when he was fourteen, a feeling he’d never forget. Being scared, and having nowhere else to turn to, he confined in one of the staff members he thought were there to help. But just before his second full moon, they chained him up in a room that was located beneath the orphanage. They told him it was to keep the other children safe, as well as himself, and while that might’ve been some of the truth, but the reason was mostly because they did not want anyone to know of his existence within the orphanage.
So, he reminded in that room, until he turned eighteen. On his eighteenth birthday he was taken from his room in the odd hours of the evening. The staff from the orphanage took him to the forest, telling him it was to let him get some fresh air for a while, but they failed to inform him that that’s where they would be leaving him. Filled with fear, confusion, and some sadness, Grayson eventually figured out how to navigate this new chapter of his life. Even to this day, he doesn’t carry ill feelings towards the orphanage staff. He can understands why they did what they did and he’s forgiven them for it.
Along the way he did make friends but ultimately, he’s never stuck around somewhere too long. Mainly due to always finding himself trusting the wrong people, which has gotten him mixed up in some dangerous situations. He stumbled upon Westray one summer, while drifting, and fell in love almost instantly with the place. There was something in the air, or just in general surrounding the place, that had a gravitational pull with him. It took a bit of time but after a while, Gray found his home within Westray. It’s where he has been residing for a little bit now. He became a bartender at the Rusty Dog, a gig he loves very much, always enjoying the stories the clients have to share. He is also passionate about photography and does a lot of street art. He is still very trusting, forgiving, and caring about those around him. That’s the thing about Grayson, despite the chains he had endured all those years, they could never break his spirit. He’s especially involved with nature, loving to grow things and care for plants. While he isn’t sure how to navigate his werewolf side, considering he’s never had anyone to show him, and he thinks he’s a cursed human because of it, Gray tries to not let it get in the way of his every day life.
HEADCANNONS
He’s a jokester kind of guy, always enjoying making people laugh, playing innocent pranks, just lighthearted fun.
He’s easily flustered and blushes if you try to flirt with him. Considering he’s never been kissed, or even held hands with someone, it’s not something he is used to really happening. Let alone doing.
He has a podcast named the Ghost Shift. He calls it the ghost shift because, well, he thinks it’s funny that he mostly talks about the paranormal on it.
He is his quietest when a full moon approaches because his mind is usually consumed with anxiety. He often tends to disappear for a bit during it and afterwards.
He still has zero idea he has any sort of siblings out there.
He has a roommate whom he adores very much and is always thankful for because they take care of him when he needs it the most. Mostly when he returns from a full moon. (OPEN WC)
He is in love with plants! He loves taking care of them, talking to them, and watching them grow. It helps that he has something of a green thumb. In the summer you can expect a lot of freshly made jams. Lavender is one of his favorite things to grow.
