The Illusion of Free Markets
Free markets are a myth. This bold statement challenges the very foundation of modern economic thought. The idea that markets operate freely, guided solely by the invisible hand of supply and demand, is a comforting narrative. Yet, it is a narrative that obscures a more complex reality.
The Rigged Game
Markets are not free. They are rigged. Powerful entities manipulate them to serve their interests. Corporations, with vast resources, influence regulations and policies. They shape markets to their advantage, leaving smaller players at a disadvantage. This manipulation distorts the ideal of a level playing field, creating an environment where the rich get richer and the poor struggle to survive.
The Need for Regulation
Regulations are essential. They are the rules that ensure fairness and justice in the market. Like the Bill of Rights or the Ten Commandments, regulations provide a framework for ethical behavior. They protect consumers, small businesses, and the environment from exploitation. Without them, markets would descend into chaos, dominated by the whims of the powerful.
Addressing Criticisms
Critics argue that regulations stifle innovation. However, evidence suggests otherwise. Regulations can foster innovation by creating standards that drive companies to improve. They ensure that competition is based on quality and efficiency, not on who can cut the most corners.
A Call to Action
We must demand fair markets. Citizens and policymakers alike should advocate for stronger regulations. We need rules that protect the vulnerable and promote genuine competition. By doing so, we can create a market that works for everyone, not just the privileged few.
Conclusion
The myth of free markets is a dangerous illusion. Recognizing the need for regulation is the first step towards a fairer economic system. Just as society relies on laws to maintain order, markets require rules to ensure justice. It is time to embrace this reality and work towards a truly equitable marketplace.
A DEER ASSAULTED MY CAR - I HATE THE SOUTH SOMETIMES
so i am officially a child of the southeast of the US. An 8 pointer buck came out from behind my car driving down a road from the gym and started bashing its head into my passenger side car door and it scared the LIVING MESS out of me
my soul ascended and then came back down
so my car is all busted up on the front quarter panel and side door and my friend tried to go find the body of the deer but he never found it (he wanted the antlers) and instead found some white cat with no eyes and one ear and no tail just staring in his direction in the woods
so yeah it was an eventful night, sobbed a lot and then cackled a lot cause all i was trying to do was get paint brushes from Michaels and a deer straight up assaulted my car like a MENACE

My DWI Story
I woke up with my head on the passenger side door.
"Ma'am where you wearing your seatbelt?" an EMT asked me through the window.
"Yeah. I'm ok. I'm just gonna go home." I said sitting up and scooting over to the drivers seat. It took me several trues to sit up.
I saw the airbag deployed and was so drunk I tried to push it back into the steering wheel. I also didn't register the blood was from me.
It was at that point I looked up.
My truck had hit a huge pine tree. That was when I blacked out again.
The next thing I remember was a brief minute in the ambulance when I told the EMT that I was going to "Beat the life out of him" if he stuck his hands under my shirt again.
Between the hospital and jail it was a blur. Xrays, blood samples for alcohol, my urine showed .36 bac. Waffles at 6am served by a trusty but I didn't even try to eat. I could barely move my jaw at all.
I was still bleeding when I went to see the judge that morning for my bond hearing. He looked up after reading me some bullshit and stopped suddenly.
"You where in a wreak?" It was a question and a statement.
I nodded my head and mumbled the best yes I could. I could barely talk.
Two days later I finally realized how bad I had wreaked.
I had bent the steering column when my truck hit the tree... That's why my chest still hurt me to breathe or move.
I had cracked my windshield with my head... That was the reason I had a huge bump on my head and terrible headaches.
Another memory came back to me: I woke up with my face on my dash and pressure from my steering wheel in my lower chest that was holding me up there. My truck was still revving and I looked around dazed and saw the tree. I crawled over to the passenger side to crawl out but never made it, I passed back out.
My brother in law who is a cop said the only reason I'm alive is because I was limp and passed out when I hit. I was so drunk I didn't know what was happening.
Despite what I told the EMT and Trooper who arrested me... there's was no way I was wearing my seatbelt.
I fucked my whole life with a two hour drinking session of Cruzan 151 Rum. The 8 drinks I had equalled 16 standards alcoholic beverages.
I was lucky to be alive.
Other than the soreness from the wreak, I showed no signs of a hangover.
This alcoholic can't drink anymore.
This is my true DWI Story

It's been quite a smashing few weeks here. 🙃 If you've been wondering why we've been quiet, dealing with the crash and the aftermath has become our #1 priority. I've decided to take a step back from making new cosplays for a bit to focus on picking up the pieces of my life (figuratively and literally). Even though the accident was not my fault at all, guilt and fear have plagued me. So casual reminder to everyone out there, Its okay, accidents happen. (Even thought they suck!) They happen to everyone and that doesn't mean the end of life as you know it. (Hopefully! Luckily, I walked away with some scratches, some wicked bruises and a severe concussion.) Please, please, please be careful driving. Cars can be replaced but you can not. ❤️ #car #wreak #carcrash #update #reminder #lifeistooshort #accidentshappen
