Rlly not liking the new wave of hate im seeing towards Vanny to prop up Turbo. You’d think the KC/Turbo fandom would’ve learned from last time in the 2010s where everyone was being misogynistic and ableist towards Vanny(cuz her glitch being an allegory for being disabled/neurodivergent.)but I guess not.

1. As much as I love Turbo, he was a grown ass egotistical maniac who couldn’t stand sharing the spotlight with anyone else so much to the point put a new game and his own home in danger, killing others in the process because he couldn’t keep his jealousy under control.

And when he found a new racing game where the main characters are all mainly children including the ruler of the game he quite literally usurped the thrown from a 9 YEAR OLD LITTLE GIRL AND MANIPULATED HER INTO THINKING THAT THERE WAS SOMETHING WRONG WITH HER AND THAT SHE SHOULDNT EXIST AT ALL AND MANIPULATED THE OTHER 9 YEAR OLD RACERS AND THE ENTIRE KINGDOM INTO HATING, BULLYING, AND PRACTICALLY EXILING OR PRACTICALLY HUNTING HER FOR SPORT FOR 15 YEARS OVER SOMETHING THAT TURBO HIMSELF LITERALLY CAUSED THAT TURNED HER INTO A GLITCH BY TRYING TO DELETE HER CODE. ALL OF THIS WHICH WOULD HAVE VANELLOPE WHO IS A LITERAL CHILD HAVING TO UNPACK AND RECOVER FROM THE TRAUMA GOING THROUGH ALL THAT FOR SO LONG COULD HAVE CAUSED.

2.I thought we all acknowledged that WIR 2 was barely canon at this point due to how badly and OUT OF CHARACTER they made Vanny and Ralph?? Hell the OG creator/writer of the first movie literally left Disney a long time ago so of course they didn’t portray the characters correctly. Plus turbo and Vanny are literally PARALLELS OF EAXH OTHER AND ARE VERY VERY SIMILAR IN SO MAMY WAS DESPITE ALSO BEING SO DIFFERENT. BOTH OF THEM ARE IMPORTANT AS CORE ELEMENTS OF EACH OTHERS STORIES. TWO SIDES OF OME COIN. ONE CANNOT EXIST WITHOUT THE OTHER.

Like I said. I love Turbo/KC to death. He’s a very cool villain and I simp for and yumeship with him just like the rest of u guys. But Vanny was my favorite character first and still remains number one to me.

I’ve kinned her ever since I was a little kid due to my own experiences with bullying and being/feeling outcasted/othered and not understood by everyone else around me(as a little kid who also had no idea I was autistic at the time due to my mom keeping it from me for so long)which included my own parents and my teachers.

Even if i wasn’t a victim of bullying or if Vanny wasn’t my favorite the way yall are acting towards a 9 year old little girl in favor of an egotistical 40+ year old man is still hella weird and I think maybe u guys need to unpack some stuff cuz it reads of internalized misogyny/gen.

Turbo (vs) Time

(THIS PALE SHITLORD HAS INVADED MY MIND LIKE ITS NAME IS SUGAR RUSH PLEASE HELP)

Okay but we need to start talking about just how interesting Turbo is as a concept.

Ladies and gentlemen, we are talking about an old 80s video game character whose game was fun enough to be considered popular in its heyday, but quickly aged terribly as more complex competitors came along, to the point where nowadays he’s willing to go to all kinds of lengths just to stay relevant.

We are talking about the indignant wrath of an outdated media character who refuses to accept that the world is done with him.

And you know what? Of course he does. Because, not only is that a difficult thing to come to terms with, but he’s the protagonist of a racing game. He’s programmed to want to be the best, no matter what happens.

But still, no matter how fast he goes, eventually he’ll always lose at the most important race of all: the race against time.

…With that in mind, the name ‘Turbo Time’ is actually pretty poetic. Because Turbo time comes… and then it goes, never to be seen again. Like a certain arcade cabinet.

That’s his real enemy here. It was never Vanellope, it was never RoadBlasters: it was what both of them meant for him. That times are changing, and he’s not fast enough to keep up.

And that’s not fair for him: of course it’s not! What is a racer who can’t keep up? Who is Turbo, if he isn’t the best? And how is it that games like Fix-It Felix Jr. and PacMan have stayed in the arcade this whole time, but he is one of the first to go?! What do they have that he doesn’t?!

There’s… there’s not really an answer to that question. More engaging gameplay that would stand the test of time and wouldn’t be replaced so easily, perhaps.

And… god, with all this in mind, the (lack of) treatment he gets in Ralph Breaks the Internet is actually poetic too, as stupid as it is. The second his rule is successfully toppled by a competitor… the world just forgets about him, like that fateful day all those years ago.

Also, headcanon time: I like to think Turbo Time was made by a pretty big company with other popular games, that had no reason to try and save it once competition started rolling in and the game became less and less popular.

Why? Because, if this were true, it’d be very likely that, out of all the Turbos in all the Turbo Times in the world… he’s the last one left.

And I dread to think how he’d react if he ever found that out.
