Writeblr Wednesday #2
It was writeblr positivity week - for me it is writeblr positivity month, and I wanted to use that as an occasion to gush about writeblrs and their projects. So here we go, in no particular order and more to come!
1. @cawolters Found through the amazing flash fiction Fridays! Those weekly prompts gave me reason to write a lot and I'm very thankful for that. But I especially admire the poetry and the WIP "Rise of the Blood Dawn" which is a dark adult series that features the best aesthetic on entire tumblr. Just sayin'.
2. @writingonesdreams is able to create the most stellar WIPs that are full of mystery and apocalyptic moods. Her newest one is Caught between Worlds that she writes for nanowrimo! But there's also a lot of writing advice on her blog that I like to check out, plus she's a very inspiring and kind person that is so valuable for this community!
3.@knightsofeclipse Speaking of advice, if you’re looking on input on how to represent minorities, you can find a lot of info on her writeblr. Arin posts a lot about LGBT+ and these posts help me a lot figuring my stuff out! She also has a waterfall account where she posts a lot about her own writing!

Other WIPs: Quasi Stellar (space lesbians) is in a transitionary period as I figure out what I want to do with the rough draft, and WAWAM (YA polyamorous monsters and gods) is yet to be written.

I definitely recommend checking out Our Bloody Pearl if you haven't already. I wrote a review for it here and I absolutely loved it.

It's writeblr positivity month - week? For me it's writeblr positivity month, and I wanted to use that as an occasion to gush about writeblrs and their projects. So here we go, in no particular order and more to come!
1. @musicofglassandwords What I love about them so much is their intriguing WIP 'The Vanished Kingdom'. I got the chance to get to know it back when I did my 600-follower celebration and fell in love first sight. They have a special talent to write the relationships between the characters, hitting me with emotions every snippet. And there are so many of them! (So blessed)
2. @soul-write Ana manages to create wonderful worlds that totally blow me away in her WIP 'Zeryuu' which is about dragons and gods. I especially love the whole mythology she's creating and the lovable characters and their stories. But Ana is also writing great short stories every now and then, so I am really glad I can count her as a friend!
3. @kaylewiswrites There's so much writing advice on my dash and most of it is coming from them. It's not too long, not too short, just overall super helpful. They also post chapters of their WIP 'Walk' which I really enjoy to read. I'm really happy to have found this writeblr and to catch up with the advice and positivity they spread in their writeblr conversations! (Which also gave me the final motivation to finally become more interactive too.)

Kelsey Clifton

“Sass Attack” is run by Kelsey Clifton (@sassypandacandy), an indie sci-fi/fantasy author who may or may not actually be a pile of peevish dragons in a trench coat.
Her debut novel, A Day Out of Time, came out last August to rave (if few) reviews. To the great excitement of her mom (and like four people on Tumblr), she’s currently working on Book Two!
A Day Out of Time: After/Effects stars a trio of former background characters from the first book, as well as a brand-new secondary cast.
Kelsey is actively seeking out beta readers, with a preference for those astoundingly gorgeous individuals who’ve already shelled out a few bucks for Book One. Message her if you're interested in epic read.
She’s also trying to fund the cover art for After/Effects, so if you’d like to contribute, you can buy her a coffee through Ko-fi or become a patron! If all goes according to her master plan (mwahahaha), After/Effects will be released some time in late February or early March, and the final book in the trilogy will be released later in the fall.

When not daydreaming about ridiculous plotlines, Kelsey hoards coffee cups and books. She grew up on fantasy writers like Tamora Pierce and Patricia C. Wrede, and she’s still a sucker for a strong-willed female lead (don’t ask for her thoughts on Susan Sto Helit from Discworld, if you know what’s good for you).
These days she’s actively working to diversify both her library and her own catalogue, so suggestions for inclusive books in most genres are totally welcome (but she’s a slut for SF/F, let’s be honest).
Once she completes the Day Out of Time trilogy, she plans on returning to her roots with a dark NA fantasy series set in a world haunted by malevolent spirits. She finished the most recent draft of Book One, Bitter Dawn back in October, and set out to conquer Book Two for NaNoWriMo. Due to a surprise trip overseas (not because she was on the run from the law or anything, so mind ya business) she didn’t get quite as far as she’d hoped, but information on Book Two can still be found on the WIP page for Brightest Day.
Although the Bitter Dawn series was drawn directly from a dream, Kelsey’s main source of inspiration continues to be random "What If" questions that occur to her throughout the day (or in the middle of the night, although those are usually less helpful).
She’s fascinated with the concept of cause-and-effect, and it crops up frequently in her work – almost as frequently as her male-female platonic friendships. Although she enjoys elements like romantic subplots and fast-paced action, what she loves to write more than anything else is defiance. Her favorite characters are the ones who stand up and say, “I won’t do this thing, and you can’t make me,” or its alternative: “I will do this thing, and you can’t stop me.”
Especially that last one.

It's always a pleasure to meet a writer with great sense of humor, but another Tamora Pierce nerd?? Yes. Sign me up. I am so ready for this Friday 🙌
Make sure you message her if you're interested in being a beta reader!

Writeblr Wednesday #3
It was writeblr positivity week - for me it is writeblr positivity month, and I wanted to use that as an occasion to gush about writeblrs and their projects. A day late but well, who's counting? So here we go, in no particular order and more to come!
1. @elliswriting I think Ellis' writeblr was the first I followed and I love seeing her on my dash because of all the golden and shiny aesthetics. But she also works on her WIP The Romantic Trials and Troubles of Daisy Fraisier which features Greek deities! I love reading about the characters so much!
2. @kirstenmcwriter There is amazing writing advice on Kirsten’s writeblr, and this also includes the podcast @thewritereadpodcast she’s creating together with @kaylewiswrites! But next to advice there are also memes and writing positivity there, so it’s a really great feel good blog for the whole community.
3. @moonflower-writing is also a very supportive person who writes incredible Sword Art Online Fanfiction, but also is such a good listener whenever I run into a problem with my own writing. It is always fun to sprint with Aydan and I am happy we got to know each other!
