ngl i fucking loathe this trend online where people are using parentheses or slashes to denote tone instead of just...using words. its bad for the language and bad for people.
it really isnt that difficult to ascertain approximately what tone someone is using based on context; books have done it for centuries! and you don't even need perfect grammar. that sentence started with 'and' but you got it. the one before that would have come across fine with a comma instead of a semi colon. it could have even been two sentences. hell, as i type this i am lazily ignoring capitalization.
plus, the internet has its own dialect to further steer understanding. caps, italics, alternating caps, elipses, paragraph breaks, and a whole bunch of other shit already convey this.
moreover, using these tone slashes only deteriorates people's ability to effectively communicate. it puts less language into circulation. if you dont encounter the word vile, how are you to know that it falls between yucky and putrid? will you know putrid? will you know yucky? or will your thoughts be wittled down to 'good' and 'bad'?
yes, some things take several sentences to become clear, but the alternative is a fast track to Newspeak (1984).
